Anyone else having issues connecting?

Mweb are currently looking at my issue but need to find if anyone else is struggling?

I cannot even complete a tracert to it

No problems, thanks again for the feedback, just wanted to see if this is an isolated problem or not
 
When I'm connected to the Mweb news server through my Mweb 4Mb Uncapped I can only download at 20KB/s, but when I connect to the same Mweb server throught the Telkom account I can download at max speed.

Any ideas why this is the case?

Hi spy

Which news server are you connecting too? Please connect to the news server closest to you, either Cape Town or Johannesburg. Please inform me if you are still encountering slow download speeds.

I know, another Mweb Thread. I'll hijack a little...having loads of disconnects lately and pathetic speeds. Telkom has been here – not their line.

Tired of your on hold music. Junior moans all the time about his stupid gaming and Steam being this and that. Guys ???? I cannot even download emails at a decent speed. FFS

No, I will not speak to anyone at Mweb’s support helpline – total waste of time.

Wow, 4MB line and getting a staggering 12KB/s from mweb news server. Is this the norm?
 
yes content your downloading is not cached.

i was pulling 500kbs from my payed one, without ssl , from 12 am last night.
 
Ok noob question: Hows does one connect to this magical news server? I've tried GrabIt and connect to news.mweb.co.za as the server on port 119. Does not connect. Does this only work with mweb accounts or something?

Oooh wait. Tried 168.209.98.66 and now something is happening :-s
MyBB search function works pretty well :o

Hi SPY :)

Check the IP you are connecting to as what you are probably experiencing is a DNS view which is a hold over from when our ADSL users were on the SAIX network.
An attempt to connect to news.mweb.co.za on that network would in all likelihood be redirected to the SAIX news servers.

Our news server should not be accessible to non-MWEB subscribers.
 
I can't even connect to the news server. What bullcrap. We are paying for a service and all they can come up with the whole day is. "We are busy investigating" I want detailed investigations please. This is Buul$#!%
 
@ Will@MWEB or any Mweb can you please give an update, as it seems my speeds are jumping around at the moment?? was getting great speeds last night and then bam, no connection was using the 196.28.78.229 Ip then swopped to news.mweb.co.za and the speeds are slow???
Update please, any one experiencing the same problem??

We have no reported issues at the moment with the news server. What speeds are you currently getting when connecting to the news server?
