Are the pc's on the same network or are you trying to login for eg. from work to home or something?
 
Whats the Host - news.mweb.co.za? I can't connect to this. My WA one is working fine though. Has it changed, cause when I phoned in, I was told it has...

Hi MAVADO, do you get any specific errors when trying to connect to the MWEB news server? Please also provide me your MWEB account details.
 
Ok so I am able to connect now. I just had to remove the Username and password :) But my word! The speeds are horrendous! A file I am downloading with my Mweb account & news Server is giving me 13k speeds. Same file with my WA account and News server is giving me 93kbps. WOW! That's just great, I will have to wait for a whole month now before I can leave. Been on the phone with Mweb for 2 hours but no can answer. Even a ReAuth and nothing.

Getting 4KBps on torrents. I have a 1 Meg line.

@MAVADO - why not use something like Astraweb?
I have a WA account and pretty much all it is good for is for downloads, but even still most of the time I do not get 100% from WA (it varies from day to day). I expect to get a higher percentage of my DL when using WA from WA news server whereas I know the percentage will be lower from MWeb newsserver. MWeb gives me a way better all round experience and have only kept my WA account as I have one of their special deals.
To be fair to WA their news server uses to be top class and I was able to do the vast majority of my downloads from it, but it has changed over the last few months. I cannot recommend them over MWeb though.

I like to think of myself as pretty clued up on this whole interweb computer thingy but when it comes to news servers I admit i have absolutely no clue what it's all about, zilp, nich, nada, sweet f-all... Gone through some of the forum but can't make heads or tails of it. So if someone could please explain to me how these things work I would be most grateful.

That got me going, and whilst I do not really undertsand how it all works, I know what to do to download files etc. I am sure Gary's how to article will have you up and running. Oh use SABnzbd as it is great

0.0.0.0 is an invalid IP.

You should be connecting to the machine's IP.

EG: http://192.168.0.12:8080/

On the machine itself, you should be able to connect to http://127.0.0.1:8080/

There might also be a firewall on the server that could block the connection.

noob question but my sabznbd normally runs on http://localhost:8095/sabnzbd/, now how do i know what url to enter on my phone for
EG: http://192.168.0.12:8080/ i belive its the 12 that needs to change and obviously the 8080 to 8095

edit nvm, ran ipconfig and its all sorted. What remote are you guys using? Using SABDriodEx, seems good, got sickbeard integration as well.

Inside your house network it shouldn't make a difference. If you are connecting using "the internet" you need to forward the port on your router.
