Currently im with an ISP that is simply not giving me what i need.

So as of next month. i will either choose Mweb or Openweb.

My requirements are around 100 gigs of downloads ( My series and maybe a movie ) , and Wow raiding , 5 hours a night + 1 hour before an after , so 7 hours of wow a day for 5 days a week. which would be my best solution ?

Most stable connection an lowest latency is a must.

Mweb uncapped 4mbps OR! 4 mbps openweb gold uncapped.

The main problem is when they begin to throttle you.

any feedback would me much appreciated.

ALSO!: what download speeds would i achieve with a 512kb mweb uncapped account

The Mweb comments about service today speak for themselves. Dont.

your in durban sadly.

both products will route you via seacom , though mweb does have dedicated thread for gaming to make sure your wow is treated as unshaped, though if you have problems i think its possible they route your though capetown to get sat-3 bandwidth.

on 512k about 50kbs, though your hardcore raider opt for 4mb as thats blizzard requirement for "broadband".

My roommate does all of these things on my mweb 4 meg uncapped just fine. Mweb does not throttle based on usage, just the usual shaping. Its pretty stable, we have a bad patch for a hour or two maybe once or twice a month. Net has gone down only about 3 times in the 7 or 8 months we've had the connection and then only for about 2 hours max. Latency for wow has been around 350, helps to use WTFast. Google it. For the rest, what heretic said.

Personally I have been very happy with my MWEB 384k uncapped. 180-250ms latency in 25 man raids with only my line speed failing me when alot of action is happening.

As mentioned, MWEB also prioritises gaming traffic with more "promised" goods in the near future.

There's also the peace of mind when it comes to the downloading factor that you wont get throttled by IS, I hate a "If you do this" hanging over my head even though I may never reach it.

I'm currently on MWEB's 4mb uncapped shaped product - if WoW is your priority then I'd say go with MWEB. The latency is terrific, mine averages about 250ms most of the time, very little hassle. Perfect during raids. For downloading, if you don't mind leaving your downloads to run overnight then you won't have issues (200kB/s between midnight and 6am for me usually) - but note that between 7am and 11pm or so my speeds are pretty pathetic when using news or torrents. (roughly 80kB/s and less).

So for WoW MWEB is amazing - I am not sure how good Openweb is for games but apparently their Gold account is pretty flawless in terms of speed from what I read on the forums.

Good luck!

Openweb GOLD is the best package for the price.

Can't speak for the WoW gaming/latency but a number of comments here seem quite positive on MWeb.
As for downloading, if you're looking for around 100GB a month, AND you don't mind leaving the downloads to run overnight then I reckon MWeb is right in the sweet spot. Plus you'll have an extra R200+ to spend elsewhere.
From the first of this month until the 10th, I've hit around 60GB without much trouble.

I signed up with Mweb uncapped when they first launched their uncapped products, and I am still very happy with Mweb and the service that I receive from them.

I can't speak for WoW though, never played it :p
