MWEB - OUTAGE

er... Openweb are just MWEB uncapped resellers... LOL
Same lines, same exchanges.

I understand the teething issues, but each outage at this early stage of their infantile foray into tier 1 ISP-dom is tarnishing a really magnificent product.

Before the uncapped thingie, we'd all agree 120% that MWEB was overpriced and overinflated with the VAS's that they offered. I'm thinking the M&B wifi, and so-forth.

all of a sudden, they're the first to launch affordable uncapped.
then... they're the only uncapped ISP with their own infrastructure and thus the only UNTHROTTLED ISP.

Now, they're the ONLY ISP that seams to be effected by SEACOM outages and by TELKOM exchange problems.

I'm thinking of migrating accounts... and I'm sure I'm not the only one... so these outages must be hurting their "new image"

Nope Openweb don't resell MWEB packages. Only if you request it shall they do that

So was there any kind of eta on this problem? Sorry not sure where to look :o

Jip, weekend again.

Although I'm not really complaining as I have download on my 512 account about 103GB for this month already. I decided to test someone else as well so terminated my M-Web account.

What is the next best uncapped product to go for, i want to get rid of this mweb rubbish.

Yeh - I recon I'm also getting to the stage where I'm going to cancel - its getting a bit annoying. I'm sure they'll have the usual excuse.

I also won't give them a calender months notice, if they're not providing me with the service I'm paying for, I won't pay for an extra month of not having it.

Fully agree, they can take their calendar month and stick it

do a tracert to google and check where it is timing out

lon-ip-dir-telecity-gig-4-0-1025.telkom-ipnet.co.za is the last active hop

looks like routing issue on telkom to me

^^^ doesn't really matter, MWEB have made a name for themselves by blaming SEACOM, etc, etc, etc... they can't keep passing the buck when their service keeps going down... and some how always when people are home (weekends)

They could at least confirm it, its the pathetic feedback they give which is the problem.

Also, if I'm paying for uncapped - and then need to change to another ISP to access the .net, I'm not really getting uncapped, am I?
