I got an email yesterday about Mweb LTE A.

They are offerring the router and free delivery for R1599 which is better than the previous price of R2199 and you have the option to pay the router off over 6 months interest free.

Not bad just not sure if the LTE is worth it though but I guess it's an alternative if you stuck.

I would suggest asking them to come out to your home to do a test before you do anything.

I'm yet to hear anything positive about MWEB so I would be wary.

Mweb is just another ISP reselling the product. ISP is RAIN (Iburst switching to LTE and LTE-A)

Compare the price per gig... vs the Speed you get...

Coverage and speeds is all Rain.

I asked for a test. Someone will get back to me. 2 weeks now and no response.

at my place I get 3 bars out of 5 (not the best signal. but speeds is still constant over 25mbit... pushing deep 35 to 40mbit at times)

I'm guessing if I can boost my signal a bit.. I should be popping deep 50's )

Hope this s the correct thread ... I just called MWEB to sign up and was told that the double data promo they're providing is night-time only (NOT anytime)

I was really hoping for it to be just double data with no catches *sigh*

It must be double data anytime (cause Rain do not distinguish between day and night data... there is no such thing)

That's what I would have thought but that's also the information I got from the Mweb sales consultant

I also talked with a sales agent and he told me that it is anytime free data.
I think at this point MWEB is the provider to go.

Month to month.
Cheapest router. R1500 compared to the R2500 of afrihost.
Cheapest data 999 for 240gb.

Can confirm that it is anytime data. Currently using the product but having the worst speeds due to coverage in the area. When I first signed up they was coverage now on the map it shows no coverage. Logged a complaint. Hoping to get feedback soon.

How long did i take after your ordered the product?

Did anyone come back to you regarding testing the signal? I'm looking to get the deal from Mweb but sceptical with the signal even though it says I have coverage.

Hi Junz05, did they manage to fix the speed issues for you. Got my router this week and battling to get more than 3mb out of the thing. Thanks

Ordered mine on Friday got it on Monday. Was connected as soon as I plugged it in. got 16 Mbps down speed in the one room and about 12 in another. My signal strenght is in the -90's without my external antenna and in the high -80's with antenna. As it is a directional antenna I wil fine tune on Tuesday when my Cell C expires and I permanently hook the antenna up to the Rain router then I will post any changes.

What type and spec antenna do you need? Couple years ago I had 3G and due to the layout of the house I needed a Yagi attennae. How can I find where the transmitter is so I know where to aim it? Mweb's guys had no idea and were not disposed to find out

No ISPs do "tests" because they dont own the network or the service, they just resell the product. Now if you want to actually test it without a risk go and sign up at webafrica since they have a 7day return policy for a complete refund if your results are undesirable.

Using Rain-LTE bought from Webafrica and 50m outside of the coverage map:
