Gotta agree with HellTel ...... gaming should not be shaped because it hardly uses a massive amount of bandwidth. Downloading stuff VS Gaming - duh, gaming uses much less. Come on Mweb, use some of the feedback you're getting from the community and make some changes to better your service.

What is mean't by 'not optimised' is that gaming traffic is not shaped like bulk download protocol (e.g. torrents, news, rapidshare etc.), but then neither is it prioritised. The best description for this type of traffic would be neutral, so 'your milage will vary'.

On a technical level, since there is no protocol standards for gaming and such a diversity of games & hosting locations it is pretty much impossible to prioritise or deprioritise 'gaming' as a whole. The best one can do it target specific games/services, but this would fall outside the nature/scope of our shaped uncapped services.

You know for so many years I've disliked mweb for overcharging for adsl. I used to group them with the likes of Telkom. Someone at mweb has got their thinking cap on has decided to finally make a change to the benefit their users and increase market share. I think mweb has done a great 180 degree turn around. Been using their uncapped solution after moving from Digichilli, to Afrihost, to mweb.

Seriously impressed with you guys. You should start a referral program. So far I've convinced 4 other people to take your uncapped, 2 being a moms and pops users.

Congrats and keep up the great work. Sure you guys are financially reaping the benefits from your wise moves! Never thought I would ever say this, but I love mweb

Does anyone know of a service that actually is good for gaming? Best gaming experience I ever had was on the old Mweb service. I left that for being too expensive, I mean that was so bad that I couldn't even afford to use vent while I was gaming. I then went to Digichilli, Gconnect, and back here. So where to go for decent latency and good stability? And does anyone know how one might set up a easy method to swap back and forth between ISPs on your router? On a network though, not single user.
