MWEB restructures the ISP

Unless there is going to be price decreases, who cares? Rudi, Mavis or Marvin. Doesn't matter either way.

um, Naspers owns Mweb. So if the CEO is going there, he won't be too far away.

Anyway, it is going to take some massive re-structuring to make Mweb more appealing to savvy Internet Users... but for Grandpa (who might have a slight suspicion he is being royally screwed but doesn't know how to fix it) it's business as usual.

I dont understand why people think Mweb is so much more expensive than other ISPs. I find their rates on average or even better than most ISPs out there. Plus nice benifits such as 300Wi-Fi minutes. 10gigs local and the best customer service around.

So you have a sig that promotes Afrihost for R29 a gig, but you think that M-web's R199 a month for a Gig is a great deal???:whistle:

Yeah I totally agree.

Everyone is "DIGICHILLY / AFRIHOST"!!! OMG SO AWESOME.. but everyone complains about either there is no service or no throughput. With M-Web you have guaranteed support + a load of VAS such as that school projects for kids, etc/

Um, that's because Afrihost actually IS SO AWESOME!!! :p

With M-Web you have guaranteed support

90% of the people on this forum already know more than those snot nosed nerds! :D

VAS such as that school projects for kids, etc/

You do know that you can find that information elsewhere in the internet for free, don't you?

Now just admit that the only reason you are defending Mweb is because you don't want to give up your e-mail address! :D

Garyvdh, R199 a month for a Gig? Me thinks you forgot (on purpose) to say including line. As much as you and I dislike Mweb give them their due. Or are you trying to spread misinformation?
My sister is happy with them, I helped her after support could not. :-)

The line rental on the 384k is R152 per month. Meaning that the gig costs you R47. That's nowhere near the R29 per gig we have been seeing lately.

in fact it is no different to Telkom's DoBroadband level 1.

Not exactly groundbreaking. And their other products are equally mediocre.

Good news for those stuck with mweb email addresses. You too can now leave mweb! Turns out that if you prod them a little they will tell you that you can keep your mail box and all your aliases for R55 p/m. Its not cheap, but you should be able to absorb that cost easily with the money you will be saving on a different ISP.
