Lo, my isp is mweb and i have a 5gig adsl cap. When i try to browse certain sites like facebook i get a 'capped' message, but other international sites like newgrounds work. It is also the 1st of the month so i am confused. Have tried clearing cookies etc.

restart your router. Check your bandwidth metre to actually see if you are capped.

Hi Killa007, there are two main places the 'capped messages' will be cached (a) DNS & (b) browser.

To solve (a) at the command prompt type 'ipconfig /dnsflush'
To solve (b) close down all instances of your browser & restart

Hope this helps.

The real solution would be for MWEB not to hijack their clients browsers.

Hi Guys,

Yes it unfortunate that we have to resort to using DNS redirection, however there exists no other mechanism with the current SAIX wholesale architecture.

The benefits of providing real-time cap expiry notification to the avg non-technical user far outweighs the few niggles that crop up. Its not forever though, in the not too distant future we will have more technically elegant methods of achieving the same result.

MWB.
