MWEB - Seacom planned maintenance update

As a result of rough seas the maintenance on the Seacom undersea cable was not completed yesterday as planned. MWEB will continue to have alternative international fiber bandwidth in place for the duration of the maintenance. Thanks for your patience.

Tracert shows that MWeb traffic to google is going via SAT3, which is presumable heavily congested!

Mweb traffic to some sites is going via AS4653 (Tata) via Tokyo, to reach the US west coast...

Seems like all links the North Atlantic (Europe and US East Coast are severely congested).

I'm getting a fantastic response from my website, hosted by yahoo.com, which is based in Palo Alto, California!

Its a bit odd that more US traffic isn't being routed this way, but MWeb and Tata may not have peering arrangements in place?
