Hi all

Im on Mweb 512kbps uncapped, My torrents at night ave about 12kbps, and during the day, especially peak hours its blocked completely (0kbps) even though seeds are very high.

This has been going on since about a month now, I reckon its probably because too many people are joining mweb now and that more people must now share the same amount of bandwidth. Can any Openweb users tell me how the shaping is for them?

Thanks

Got to agree, lately its almost dead during day, downloading from hotfile and at night its not very often I reach full speeds. Wonder if the network is overloaded?
I am on 4mb
Torrents during day are dead

I am on mweb 4mb.
During the day I average about 50kbps, then during the nights(from 18h) it goes to 150-200kbps. The weekend I got 400kps for the most part. So no complaints here.

i drove through two potholes today and sat in a traffic jam for 3 hours. Its all BMW's fault.

Do yourself a favour - count the MWEB threads on this topic - and then count the Openweb threads on this topic - and then decide for yourself :)

i would rather count the posts to mrBeep for help and answered, a lot more impressive ;).

however to be fair not all is well in gold uncapped land as demonstrated by even your posts, in fact you yourself is going to cap accounts...

Yip... I had about three weeks of a preyty ****ty experience... the majority of that caused by torrents, after that was resolved, and the account switching was resolved, it was happy sailing... I did 47GB in just over a day last week.

I'll move back to uncapped (Openweb) again in about April - one of my main reasons for cancelling is because I'm not going to be home to fiddle with accounts should things go pear shaped... I'm also not going to be home to download things - so its pretty much a waste of money for the next two months.

The experience on Openweb has certainly been a lot better than my 8 odd months on MWEB.

Openweb 4meg - Awesome.

Doing a download "test" this month, as my brother wants to cancel his uncapped, and join openweb. (_so far around 400 gigs +_) It'll be the first and last time i do so much though. Usually around 60 - 100gigs a month is more than enough. Just checking the capability as such. Torrents are a no-go! unless you Downstorm them. Latency is very good.

Nice thing about Openweb is they don't use the BS MWEB use against you, bypassing shaping, etc.

Hi -ariOn-

I sent you a message via PM regarding some feedback I found regarding your line.

Please provide me with feedback.

So you say go Openweb Gold but don't mention that it's almost R200 plus more expensive ........

I don't see that question asked?

Besides - you often see this email, R100 odd more for 10x the speed.
4Mbps Gold Uncapped - R659

Do yourself a favour and see how much more the Opeweb Gold uncapped account costs. Probably for each thread you pay R20 more.

So cant really compare - price makes a difference for some people. But as they say, you pay for what you get.
