On 4mb uncapped mweb.

For close to 2 weeks p2p for me has been throttled down to a mere 20kb bouncing between 12-22kb... im not a heavy user but this is starting to bug me now. Even http downloads are nowhere near what they used to be.

I completely understand that p2p will be throttled, in fact i agree with it, but the whole night and weekend? it pains me to read people complaining that they are only getting around 150kb on the weekend.

I was hoping it would correct itself with the start of the new month but it hasnt at all.

I tried changing the username to @mweb.co.za instead of @dslmweb.co.za ... but i couldn't get any connections in.

lol, then i'm getting faster speeds on my 384 line! (38-41Kb/s) all day long. :D

what 384 line are u on! cos my downloads can go into BYTES, not even KB!
it all obviously depends on what u downloading

Had good 384k line speeds all weekend on my side. Mweb News Server

"We do not throttle we shape our shaped products" - either should not be happening - upgrade your network - It is simple, build the road and the traffic will come - what could be simpler?

That message is for all ISPs right?

Ummm... do you have the blank cheque to provide MWEB with the capital to provide a 1:1 contention ratio on their network?

@michael: Unfortunately it really isn't that simple. IPC links connect us to the ADSL last mile to gain access to our customers. Upgrades to this portion of the network are dependent on the availability of the bandwidth. It's not a question of cost it's one of available capacity and it's a constraint that is faced by all South African ISPS currently.

The IPC upgrade was suppose to happen this month though, is that still on plan?
