Hi, recently I got mweb uncapped 4mbps, its quite good actually accept YouTube is witch loads at the correct speed and everything but the videos play at 100 to 200 Kbps according to windows task manager and as a result they are a pain to try and watch, my previous Telkom capped account is still active and if I log in to it all is still horrible because its telkom internet but I can at least watch YouTube videos at the full speed of the line, witch leads me to believe its something to do with mweb, any ideas, perhaps switching to openweb?

Your telkom capped is unshaped. Its suppose to be better. I have telkom uncapped and have the same problem with youtube streaming. Even though its streaming from local servers. My VOX capped also stream at full 10meg

Odd? I've just come here from YouTube, I was streaming without waiting for buffering at 720p on my 2 Mbps connection.

Morning gamer16, YouTube traffic is prioritised on our network and you should have a good experience with it.

Has you experience improved since you posted yesterday?

if no, please provide me your MWEB account details via private message.

you has been doing this since last night around 12 am... , but streaming something like twitch and other streaming content run fine ?

Damn, even my 1 meg gets 700-850Kbps on youtube

Hi, our Engineers are looking into a suspected issue with Youtube and Google Chrome. I'd suggest streaming via a different Internet browser until we get to the bottom of this.

I don't think the issue is with youtube or chrome but with your network as it works fine on other isp networks.

well I've noticed anything to do with google is slow on chrome and Mweb, somewhere Mweb changed something in there firewalls/rules and this is reflecting badly on chrome, I have to say using IE ... ( I can't believe I used it ) is fixing all google related issues. but using a third party VPN service is also fixing the issue.

So instead of breaking games and S***, mweb restricts you from using specific web browsers, nice new way to drive there clients away ... have to say hats off for the new way to F*** with us...

Definitely no issues with Chrome and MWEB Capped. The Chrome issues with MWEB Uncapped are being investigated. Please use an alternative browser in the meantime.

it could still be an issue with youtube and chrome specific to mweb's network though, right?

Afternoon All, we have completed some testing today and our experience has been allot better.

Please let us know if you are still having issues with YouTube via Chrome.

Yes but that's not what he said, their network was not implicated, all blame appropriated to chrome & youtube.

I have been experiencing intermittent streaming issues with YouTube since Wednesday (06/04). Today I am still having issues where my 8mb connection is streaming @ around 30kb/sec. The site loads quickly, the videos do not. It seems to fluctuate between videos where every so often I get normal speeds again but for the most part it is severely under performing.

Thanks

Hi Jooster, when streaming, right click on the video and select "stats for nerds". This should create a little pop-up displaying your streaming stats. Please screenshot the pop-up and upload it here for me to look into.

I think you missed the sarcasm...

I think you missed the fact that you went to every single thread about this topic and said, "it's not Mweb, it's you", going so far as to start insulting other forumites who are stating that you are not a rep while you keep on attacking those who post that they have issues.

Would you mind taking a break for a month and just let the Mweb rep do his job? I am sure if you asked him nicely he'll put in a word for his manager to get you hired.
