Hi ldmelsa

I have refreshed your account. Please reboot and monitor the speeds during the course of the day.

Hi Mwebguy. Great experience for me on Mweb.
Lately i sometimes get non-responsive browsing where I have to restart my router for immediate improvement or waiting a while for same browsing to return to normal. Is this an issue that can be fixed with an account refresh?

I PM'd you my detail in case.
Regards
Mortiiy

Hi

I received your PM and replied :-)

Currently have the 1meg uncapped with MWEB, can i copy and paste my experience to the 4meg uncapped if i upgrade to that? I spend about R200 a month on capped data, so a no brainer to go 4 meg uncapped if its good, stable + reliable (much as my 1 meg is)

Been having some odd issues lately. Last month I had my Telkom line take over by Mweb, and since then I get occasional disconnects during the day. The speeds are fine have done various speed tests. I had Telkom come out to check the line about a month ago when I was getting very slow speeds and my line was transferred to a different dslam (I think that's the correct term), and the speeds and connection have been fantastic. But now we have the disconnecting issues, it will go offline and then reconnect, and this happens during the day and evening. Any ideas?

Hi

Just a quick question, are you able to test with another ISP account or a different router to see if you get the same experience.

I don't see this being a problem with my line because the minute I log onto my Mweb capped account, all is right in the world, and I can take advantage of my 2MB line capacity.

Now this is rather interesting...Anyone else had or know of someone who had the same experience?

Hi MWEB Guy

My line is registered with Mweb, is it possible for you to do a port reset on my account in the hopes of sorting out my issues? I`m not at my PC at the moment, but I can contact you again tonight with my details

Hi EtTA

Sure I can do so. Will just need your MWEB account details :-)

I'll do a speed test tonight on both accounts to see what kind of capacity the capped account is running at, in comparison with the uncapped account.

Are you able to do this during the day as well? Also can you do a down of like a 50MB file and see what happens? Do it with both accounts? The results would really be interesting.

I only have one router, and I don't have any other ISP account to use as a test.

I would suggest putting your details on a friends router and see if you get the disconnects as well. This is just a way to see if it's not the router that is dropping the connection.

Agree.

@ PurSpyk - Also has Telkom tested your line to see if there are any errors on it? There are some other tests too besides checking if its up? They can check for line noise as well. This can and will also cause poor speed.

Does your current router have a facility where we can check your WAN Link status i.e. the "interface or port" as it may be called? Some of routers actually show something called "CRC" and/or transmit /receive errors.
