Anyone else experiencing terrible speeds in PE from today ?

Newsservers not responding at all and my 10Mbps line reporting 3Mbps speeds on speedtest (to MWEB CPT and JHB) instead of the usual 7-8.

ADSL line is rock solid.

MWEB Guy - anything going on that we should be aware of ?

@mweb guy

Same problem here

It just after 11PM and my download (p2p) is coming down at 4.2k/sec MAX....Is this for real?

:twisted::mad:

Good Morning Guys

Are you still having trouble with speeds this morning?

Youtube videos don't even load and supersport.com streaming is buffering all the time. My other ADSL accounts work 100%

Good MOrning

Please see the private message I have sent you.

Yes don't ask MWEB to fix there over congested networks to maximize there profits. Use a alternative service like news servers
and once all the "Noobs" like this 12year old explains switches to News servers I'm sure MWEB will just let the additional strain to there network just slide.

Or maybe just maybe they'll see that's were the additional congestion is coming from and throttle "I mean dynamically shape" those ports instead.
Then you can come back here and "troll" about those people too. Either way your happy but the rest of the people are still being ignored when they ask for explanations to dynamic shaping and how 0k/s to 23:30 is shaping.

I think this is when everyone is trying to P2P because it's blocked (I mean dynamically shaped) during the day. Switch ISP's if you want it to stop. I used MWEB cause it was cheap but checking the prices now there's better ISP's out there and the prices are the same.

Good Morning, please inbox me your MWEB account details and please also confirm whether you are still having a problem this morning?

@MWEB Guy

I had no disconnect yet with vsync set off in game for diablo3.

Hi Mweb guy

I Don't think Mweb's Dynamic Shaping protocols are enforced over weekends as much. Going normal ATM "touch wood". I'm more concerned about my weekday traffic. Don't get me wrong i understand why shaping is needed and I'm all for it during business hours but 0/kb's from 8:00 to 23:30 every day Mondays to Fridays isn't shaping...or maybe it is and I'm wrong. That was what i had a problem with but the Technical Department just said "Nothing we can do" Witch I took as "Cancel and give your money to WebAfrica instead we're to busy to care."

Over time I have learned to schedule downloads for after 11pm till 6 am and manage my needs...no, you don't need all 10 seasons of CSI tonight...

I think it is unrealistic to expect full speed 24hours of the day all the time.

Hey Straatkat...

I've tried the above SEVERAL times and its like WTH!!!! I schedule ONE 2-3GB download from anout 10PM and...it takes about 24hrs to download the file(s).

So that doesn't even work! :(

23hrs 43min to download a 2Gigs!!!

MWEB - You should be ASHAMED of yourselves! Charging a premiuim for a SUB-standard service! Shame on you. Shame on you!!!

Look at these:

Hi bradlesliect

This shouldn't be the case. I would like the opportunity to look into why. What was the actual download speed you were getting?

Also, PM me the MWEB email address or username.

Hey there,

You already have my account details. Will send it again.

Download Speed....not to be arrogant or rude but you do the calc...2GB over 24hrs? and this is just for the last 24hrs.

You going to check the same thing I did - which is not accurate - and thats by ADSL usage because it runs over a 24hr period and not per hour which is what we need to see. We need to see a trend about what time(s) of the day its the worst because by the amount of comments the common thing coming through is that it seems shaping is MORE aggressive afterhours.

You unfortunately cannot drilldown to a hour-by-hour download for users that complain can you? These are queued downloads via a download manager.

Again, no disrespect, what do you do with information that is passed on to you? Escalate to 2nd level support? Your network guys or are you 2nd level support?

I am not happy at all...Right now...MWEB is doing nothing to convince to remain a loyal customer.

@ MWEB Guy

Finished the game today without any disconnects. It was after all vsync ingame and whirlwind causing it. That game really seems to be poorly written when I compare it to my other titles, which don't have any such weird issues... not even the secret world.

We can now close the chapter on diablo3 vs me and DCs.

Thanks.

Take a look at this. If my calculation is correct...this works out to roughly about 6k/sec MAX if I use the highest amount of data.Traffic Report.JPG

the only thing which is very strange is that the streaming from YouTube has improved but still sporadic. It drops all the way to 3.5KB/s and goes as high as 65KB/s. Still very slight buffering issue but a lot better than it was about 2hrs ago.

Is the ASxxxx peering working for MWEB in the States?

What do you see when you click on the video and say show video info...

quick test I did

I use visual route for traceroutes...it shows where possible bottlenecks might be when high latency and slow downloads are experienced.

I would like to know the server names(host / DNS names and/or IP addresses) that MWEB use for their speedtest results. I can use this info in VisualRoute for more accurate information
