I need to attend a Webinar and E-Learning class online...and my interweb are dead again. No point, its just too disappointing, so i are rather going to bed wuf no interweb. This is really, really sad.

Guys...remember SpeedTest results are an as at a point in time result so even though you might get good speeds then its not indicative of what been happening a long period of time...lets say last 24hrs. For this reason I use DU Meter. I can extract traffic reports for hour-by-hour data xfer. Good and useful too.

Today, at random times news server just looses connection. The only way to get a connection again is to close and then open the news reader again. Just thought I'd mention this sudden case of altsheimers.

Torrents still capped at about 35kb/s even after MWEBGuy did stuff the the account. Throttling accounts even over Weekends to 1/7 the line speed? What a Shameless ISP

Good Morning Guys

rambo919, Our you still having trouble with the news server?

Torrents speeds are not guaranteed, however please do provide me your MWEB account details via private messaging.

Some days I get kuk torrent speeds (sometimes evenings, sometimes during the day, sometimes both), but at the end of the week I've managed to get a very decent amount of content. You should not complain about unguaranteed p2p speeds the instant they drop below max line speed, don't 'watch the kettle boil, by the end of the week it would have boiled 10x over'. Just my view on p2p speeds...

Hi Mweb Guy:) been having problems connecting to the internet, connection keeps on dropping, I don't know if it is on Telkom's side or not, I have phoned them and they said that my line is synching on their side but yet I'm not able to connect. I do get connected a few times but this is for a very small amount of time before the modem will restart(I don't if this is because of the router or my line not synching)and sometimes revert back to default settings. Haven't had a stable connection for more than 10 mins for the past 6 days. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated:)

Good Afternoon 325i, do you have any noise on your Telephone line? Do you have filters on all points being plugged into wall jacks?

I have the telephone and adsl line in one splitter connected to a main splitter with the alarm line. There is some noise, but I think that it is due to the adsl line

There shouldnt be any noise, noise can cause dropped connections as well. Do you perhaps have another filter to test with?

Unfortunately I do not, I have logged a fault with Telkom, hopefully they can reduce the noise.

Let me know what the outcome is. We always recommend that clients first replace the filters before having Telkom come out though.

Hmm maybe I'll cancel that fault and try to get new splitters, would I be able to get them at Makro, Game, etc or do I have to go to a Telkom store?

Makro does, not so sure about game.

Guess I'll have to make a trip there soon, thanks Mweb Guy:) just cancelled that fault with telkom and my line seems stable (don't want to jinx it:whistle:) Thanks for the help:):D can maybe finally do some online gaming :D

Awesome... hope your connection remains; solid as a rock ;)

Hi Mweb Guy, unfortunately that rock crumbled. I decided to plug the router into the main box on its own(without the telephone line and alarm line) I could not establish a connection. So I reverted back to my old setup and it took about 1 hour to actually connect to this current session. Would this still be a filter problem or is it now a Telkom problem. What if it is a problem with the main box?

Is the noise still on the line? If yes, I will still say get a filter to see if that helps with the noise.
