MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

No its not browser specific, multiple PC's in the house.

Also, in the other thread:

I have recreated your port and re-authenticated your account. Please reboot your router for 5min and let me know if that makes a difference.

2nd day in a row my ADSL is unusable. I'm in the Rooihuiskraal area, so I've been affected by network outages. I had a little usable performance earlier today. Right now I'm using my Vodacom 3G just to post this. What's up with that?

Good Evening,

Please provide me your MWEB account details via private message and I will verify if there are any reported outages in your area.

Seems a bit better, but speedtest.net refuses to load completely. Google services are better, but Google Checkout/Wallet is timing out.

Just tried a plugg uncapped test account they were kind enough to give me for 7 days. Needless to say youtube streamed flawless at 720p with no chance of needing to stop and load. Unlike mweb uncapped which cant stream 360p without needing to stop and load continously.

Excellent, get yourself a plugg account, and stop making a nuisance of yourself with regards to MWEB.

It is getting a little tiresome now.

Good Afternoon Racer,

I will test this at our test bench and provide you some feedback.

Please also send me pings and tracers to the website in question.

Any luck on your side? Site pings fine, but traceroute dies a hop before site IP.
I've also included a traceroute from a Telkom account for comparison. As mentioned, site loads fine as well from Telkom account -

In the meantime I've also emailed the site admin to check if they're blocking any IP ranges (perhaps an Mweb client was naughty and they've blocked the entire range).

I have had terrible speeds in Observatory, Cape Town for the past two days. Anyone else had issues?

I am not not sure if it has something to do with the mad winds we are having here...

I'm on a 1Mbit account

Morning Edduck

Please provide me with a tracert to any local and international website and your MWEB account details. I'll look into it as the results are bad.

Just switched to 4mb uncapped.

Trying to stream some stuff from youtube. 9am on a saterday morning. It's near impossible and very frustrating. The video starts streaming and 5 seconds later stops to a grinding halt and then nothing. Does this get better?

This is a 720p Youtube stream on my MWEB 4mb line:

Hi MwebGuy. Having issues again with my sync, for some reason the line is dead, as in no dial tone whatsoever. I have logged a fault with Telkom but only due to the fact of the ADSL line, and not the actual line being dead. Is there anyway that you could help out?

Hi plugger123

Please provide me with your MWEB account details.

Does this get better? With MWEB things always gets better :-)

Problem solved...
Figured out what was wrong. I had a torrent running in the background at +/- 5-10kbs / I really did not think it was going to affect youtube but it did. After turning off utorrent the problem was solved. Probably the shaping software on the other side shaping the line when it see's p2p traffic....

Getting 15kB/s on twitch streaming or youtube watching. Lagging in game as well. Restarted router, no change. Nothing running in the background.

Edit: I try to take the mweb speed test, it takes for ever to start.

Any sites you want me to tracert?

EditX2: Local sites seem fine

Hi GaskooN

If it is only international that is giving you issues, send me tracert for international sites.
