MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

@MWebGuy

Just signed up for an uncapped trial.

One question, are the trial accounts effectively an exact copy of standard uncapped accounts that just last 7 days? I.E., uncapped trials are not specially prioritised or anything, leading to a better first impression? I don't want to be let down in the future…

Thanks

Hi JasDan

The trial account is the same as the standard uncapped account, priorities are set the same.
The only difference, as you mentioned, is that it last for 7days. :)

Experiencing sluggish/erratic international browsing. Hop 7 only abnormality i can see..... Please advise. Thanks

Hi Mortiiy

I have run a trace on my side and get similar results to what you getting, however mine does not time out on the 7th hop.
I will look into this for you and drop you a PM as soon as I have some feedback.

That was speedy and excellent feedback info MWEB Guy.
I am happy chappy with the service and MWEB uncapped.:D

I wanna move over to MWEB, are there any obligations on the trials?

I am moving in 6 weeks and only once im connected in the new place will I be able to sign up properly, any way I can still have a test account in the mean time?

Hi dotnerd

I would advise that you wait till the DSL is active at the new premises before you sign up for the trial account.
Once it's activated, you have to use it within 7 days of activation.
So getting now while there may not be ADSL would not be the best idea.

However if you'd like a test account for you current location, I'm sure it could be arranged.

Drop me a PM when you ready and I will have a consultant contact you to set it up. ;)

I get to keep my exact port as I am just moving down the road, right now I just want to test the overall feel and usability of your service.

Thanks

In that case, drop me a PM with your contact details and I will arrange for a consultant to contact you.

Hi MwebGuy,

Downloads of normal HTTP traffic and browsing.

Everything seems fine on the line and account. I refreshed the account, power down the router for 30 minutes and let me know if the speed improves.

If not, let me know what the actual download speed is you are getting with your downloads.

Great. Not at home right now but will check a bit later.

Thanks

Hello, I have recently had a slow connection, initially it was just p2p but now http and mail are slugging along as well.
Also I am wondering if there is any way to see what was using data on a connection.

According to the mweb tracker I have downloaded over 10 GB each day. however when I look at local stats it comes nowhere near the numbers given!

Hi Mike43110

When you say http is sluggish, are you referring to local or international traffic?

Are you wanting to monitor data traffic for the pc? If so, there is something called net meter you can download in order to monitor the usage the pc uses.

Please PM me the MWEB account details so that I can check on the usage you are referring too.

Hi MWEB Guy

I recently signed up for the 2mb account. Speed has been very inconsistent throughout the day. Very high pings and slow speeds with times on speedtest.net. Don't know what it means, but does this look healthy?

Hi GrootBaas

This doesn't look healthy at all. When the 2nd hop is that big, it normally points to a congested exchange.

PM me the MWEB email address so that I can look further into this from our side.
