Hi All

The SEACOM outage has been resolved and we are now running at full capacity as appose to the one third capacity we were running earlier on WACS. Service should slowly be returning back to normal.
We would like to apologize for the inconvenience that was caused.

Dont you have fallback capacity on SAIX anymore?
 
Yeah my service has been below par, to say the least, since January this year. I never used to struggle with streaming Youtube videos, but now they constantly buffer all the time. And I just find that browsing in general is bit more sluggish than it used to be. Not bad, just not as quick as I am used to. Also, I have noticed that HTTP downloads at full speed are constantly running around 5-10kb/s slower than previously. I know it's not major, but it's still noticeable. 1Meg line btw.

Having a bit of a wierd issues since the seacom outage yesterday.

Everything is running fine except for Diablo 3, I can't log into the game at all, it just times out immediately when trying to log in using mweb.

I switched over to an axxess prepaid account to test last night and I could log in and play without problem or lag.

I only switched back to my mweb account this morning and its still the same issue.
 
Still no RDP over my 4Mbps uncapped connection - server keeps refusing connection (various servers)

Definitely an MWEB issue. I swapped login on the router with an Afrihost account and it worked straight away. Mwebguy - has Mweb started disallowing RDP on the uncapped accounts? It attempts to connect, starts the session then rejects it. I suspect certain protocols or ports are being blocked. RDP operates on 3389 - not sure if there are others for auth etc.

I can't work without RDP and can't see why Mweb would deliberately block it. If it's not sorted soon, I'm forced to move. This is costing me.

Let me just say I used to moan like crazy about my s.h1tty coms and in particular about mweb, but it wasn't mweb. Its TELKOM AND ITS YOUR LINE! I literally laid a complaint once a week for 3 months till the telkom techie more like noobie got so annoyed he ignored my complaints, but then I got his cell number and phoned him every time my coms sucked. I even krapped on him once when he was home sick in bed. Its FIXED NOW! And had nothing todo with mweb. So its telkom because they are the ones actually giving you the internet service mweb does very little indeed in the whole chain of events ... PHONE TELKOM AND DON"T STOP TILL THEY FIX YOUR LINE!!!!!!! I was prepared to cut the wire in multiple places just so they did something about it, thank god for them it didn't come to that. Only complaint with mweb is their overpriced data bundles. LOWER YOUR PRICES!!!

Nope, it's an mweb issue I'm having, not a telkom issue. Not all issues are speed related ;)
 
Home Account = MWEB Premium 1MB
Office Account = MWEB Bonded 16MB / Fallback 4MB Business if the bonded is down
Both work without a glitch

Interesting... wonder what they've done to mine... wonder if it's been downgraded to the cheaper one.
All I did to test was swap with an afrihost login and it worked without a hitch. Wont work on my mweb login. Very very weird. Skype also playing up intermittently still.
