Actually, if you look at the speed test, you will have noticed that a dial up was faster last night. As for the total costs, a 4 meg line and uncap internet = R1149, which is almost twice as much as I used to pay for my dial up connection.

I am just really tired of this, that is all. I had Telkom looked at the line, I have had Mweb looked at it. I have bought two new routers, replaced cables and I cant even open a freaken webpage this morning before I left home.

Yea and the cable cuts by the dumbass Egyptians isn't the cause, the line/isp/service is? lol, seriously dude. When Telkom gets a cable theft, are you going to blame the ISP too?

Anyway, half of R1149 for dialup? Holy ****, my AVERAGE bill for Dialup (and then I didn't even go on during peak hours) was R1350+.... and thats more than a decade ago already. Before ADSL. Some number crunching and consdering inflation, I'd say you're a "mom & pop" user that doesn't need to spend that much money on internet at all. Maybe just go get Cell C or some ****, or move back to dialup since it's more affordable to you then (because you spend 5 minutes at a time online)

I am actually just tired of uncapped. It is great to download big amount of data, which is really cool. But the frustration it brings when you use the internet is too a big a price to pay. It is great that I can download 10 gb worth of movies at 12:00 till 6:00. Awesome, but to be dreadfully slow during the times that I actually want to browse or watch a movie trailer on youtube or listen to a podcast is just not for me anymore.

I am not sure where the fault is, I am just tired of this...

Well, then move. Get an capped account?!

*Edit:
Perhaps the problem is with congestion, uncapped would bring more congestion.

Yup - what he said - get a capped account.

Did an analysis on my own usage and was unpleasantly surprised to find that my usage has crept to just over 100 gig - dunno how that happened but suspect that having 7 devices connected to the internet would account for that.

Capped becomes too expensive in that usage range, so I'll live with the limitations imposed by uncapped.

I am moving. Not sure what I am going to do next. Got 10Gb free with my preorder for Starcraft 2 so will be using that for the interim. I am looking at the business uncapped products, also at the semi shaped or unshapped products. Not in a hurry to commit to anything. Also reported my adsl line faulty again, maybe they can do something about it

Hi I don't know what is going on now

I understand the slowness due to the seacom outage

The mweb network statue message for the lack of bandwidth is now closed some assume this is resolved

But I am still having issues I have very slow youtube netflix and hulu constantly buffering

I have a 7 meg Adsl line

When I switch to my fnb free bandwidth everything works fine

Is there still a problem???

Hi killkom

The Seacom outage is still ongoing. We are running only at almost 90% alternate (re-route) capacity.

We are pushing to get back to full capacity.
