Hi there Mweb Guy

As I am playing GW2 I just notice my latency going higher and higher.

Who do I need to speak to at Telkom to get this mess sorted? Low level techs are useless if they say my exchange has no congestion problems. Does anyone know who can get me moved to another exchange (and at no cost?). Because this is ridiculous. Luckily I am off tomorrow, so I can gooi mielies at whomever.

Hi Ecco

I had a look into your line readings and the attenuation is very high. I would advise contacting Telkom to sort out your line problems as this is causing your internet connectivity issues.

Hi MWEB Guy, just got off the phone with Telkom. They say the attenuation is normal. Line is normal.

Please can you help - see the results of speedtest below:

2 Way to sort it , start cutting random telephones lines , so there is less dsl users in your area , will fix congestion ! ( don't actually do it , its not legal :P )

Other way move to new area , make sure its up to 10mps area, if you are currently in a up to 10mps area , might not be a congestion problem.

Your attenuation is currently 54db, that is not normal.
I also see there are 2 active sessions at the moment on your account.
This could certainly be impacting your account and how it performs.

2 active sessions? I only have one modem and one line? Not sure how there are two active sessions? Is it possible that somebody else has got my account details and is using my account? But would that impact my speed on my line?

streaming from enysite have been a pain this weekend what the deal?
i cant even listen to a mp3 online wtf

It would certainly impact your connection as it would mean your bandwidth is being split over 2 connections.
Do perhaps have more than one device connected to the router?

Hi Mweb guy

I seem to be having a lot of speed issues this weekend/last few days.
I am completely unable to stream video (youtube, twitch.tv etc) - even 240p on youtube is buffering for a ridiculous amount of time.
Download speeds are terrible as well.

Have a look at my line please.

Hey MWEB Guy. If possible, could you perhaps please post the reason MWEB makes use of a calendar months' cancellation period in this thread. I'm trying to compose a list of which ISPs make use of this cancellation method and the justifications behind it. Thanks.

Are Mweb splitting the bandwidth? What if there are two or more sessions or active connections but one is idle waiting for e-mail or just doing nothing at all?

Hi

Are you still having trouble with your connection and streaming?
sometimes if i refresh the page it starts loading/buffering better

but getting a vid to start is a pain and just load slow running at 35-45kb/s when the vid streams
but when the page load its around 10 :/

My download speeds dropped to 30-40kbps last night, browsing in general was very very slow.

Morning Dysphoric

I checked the line on our side and everything is fine. Please let me know if you are still having speed issues.

Morning Seriously

We are not splitting bandwidth. As mentioned the line speed will be impacted therefore causing slow speeds as it will be shared amongst the devices.

My setup is such that i have an ADSL modem connected to the line, and then the router connected to the modem. The modem makes the connection.

I only had my laptop and phone connected to the wifi router.

Still not sure how come i had two connections? Should i change my Mweb password?

Morning Ecco

You can change your password, it can be done by logging into My Account.

There is only 1 active session reflecting at the moment, since 20h35 last night.

Are the news servers down? I'm stuck in the infinite loop of connecting and retrying

Morning F1ve_Claw

As far as I know, we don't have any issues with the news server. Have you tried rebooting the router for a few minutes and trying again.
