Mweb Guy,

It is time for Mweb to switch their primary undersea cable to WACS, and have Seacom as secondary cable,

Seacom have become very unreliable as of late, or you guys need to look at maybe having a 50/50 split on WACS/Seacom......

I hope Mweb takes the time to review their undersea cables setup...

Browsing is manageable but actually downloading is dead....I know this might be the wrong place to ask, but which ISP's use the SAT3/WASC cable?

Looking at my netlimiter logs, as of 10 minutes ago my steam downloads have gone from 200kbps to 30kbps. :(

Update: Aaand, its back. Maybe they just swapping cables just there. :p

Some people have online businesses or work from home which rely on us having Internet access. No Internet, no income.

I'm still flying at 103 KB/s on my Mweb 1 Mbit uncapped.

I can't remember the eassy break. You say they were affected but clearly not badly, right? I'm just thinking about which isp would be best to move to...

Seacom wasn't the only cable to be cut now, EASSY was too. As reported in the news, four cables were cut.

The problem however is businesses, all our accounts are dead, IS and Mweb business accounts, where one Mweb account is a premium uncapped account. No remote support is happening at this moment, we are hardly managing and with no other backbone to carry business connectivity this is an issue which is costly. Strangely though they still consider the connection to be up and do not regard this as downtime… This clearly shows that the agreement in contract is not met according to us; there is no 99% uptime to allow us to conduct business productivity.

Ok so what's the general consensus on Afrihost uncapped.
How stable is it really? From the reports it seemd pretty horrendous over the last few months but is it all sorted now?
What's the AUP like?

I'm shifting about 160gb a month on MWEB 1mb uncapped.

The Afrihost business guys are running full speed as usual.

Afrihost uncapped - average
Afrihost business uncapped - godly

If you utilise more than 65% of your connection's capacity then the Afrihost business uncapped isn't suited for you.

Im curious to see what MWEB does tomorrow when most companies based users start calling in...

Yea it's just normal uncapped. Look like for better or worse MWEB is the better option for high traffic.

We pay a company to render us an service to allow us to conduct business, yes we can quickly get an operational temporary account which will allow us to continue, but this is no excuse to the ISP’s which is lacking backup connectivity.

I think you need MWEB Business to have redundancy. Residential do not get so much redundancy.
