MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

Just got back, fired up my browser and none of the pages are loading completely - even MyBB pages are stuck on "Transferring". Was it yesterday "early afternoon" or the day before that everything was supposed to be fixed?

Seems I'll be getting some more Afrihost data and advise clients to do the same tomorrow, though once they've gone through the effort of registering with Afrihost they might just migrate permanently instead of paying me to put their routers back on Mweb once it's finally working again. :o

Charge them for termination :P

I would like to see some managers replying here.

We know they are in meetings! Been testing this OpenWeb standard uncapped account and I am actually just going to sign up with them. 500+ Kbps on torrents + netflix streaming, no issue!

It will never happen, Mweb's service has gone downhill since the latest CEO has taken over. Too worried about monthly profits to offer a decent service at decent price, saving money by not having a backup system in place too is really an indication of how they treat us as customers. I work for a software company as head of support, and we have a mweb buisness account, so bacially tomorrow we will be unable to communicate with our customers, which are world wide, unless we spend additional money on a different service provider.

I am not too sure this will go down too well with our CEO.

As an example of having a backup system in place, during the times when Eskom had all the load shedding issues, we too the descision to spend R250000.00 on a generator, this has never really been used, but we had to make the fincancial commitment so we were able to still offer our customers the servie they paid for. If Mweb had done the same (and I know the costs are significanly higher, but at the montly price we pay, Mweb should have more than enough money), we would not all be on these forums arguing.

Currently using WebAfricas 5GB trial and also used Afrihosts 1GB the day before - both accounts working perfectly! Thanks again Mweb!

Also haven't had Youtube streaming like this for ages - so smooth :)

Thank goodness I didn't get rid of my Redafrica account. Pure Internet bliss compared to this crap.

Doing the same, I actually used up one account did not realise how fast the torrents were downloading. Really impressive stuff, and Youtube as well never a stutter or any lag. Now if you go back to Mweb, with this "Premium" crap, when can we not do the same??

Can't even change our ADSL ISP to something usable cause we locked with MWEB's All Inclusive Package ...

Wait, I didn't know this. I was planning on migrating my line to them but not if they lock me to the network.

When I spoke to MWEB about line porting they said this wasn't the case. Maybe it's on their older routers that it's locked?

Wow this is unbelievable. Are you sure???
Anybody else found this to be true? And if so do you know a way to get around this?

Just got a reply from Mweb Guy on an FB message. It's only locked older routers not a general all-inclusive thing.

****, so it would cost me +R1000 and a lot of time just to switch to another ISP :( My line is with MWEB. FML.

Mweb should get a cut from other ISP's marketing budgets for helping them market so well - Webafrica, Axxess, Afrihost...

Can't download or stream youtube,Netflix etc . And by next week my line will be upgraded to a 4meg Premuim uncapped hoping everything will be sorted by then.
