Anyone know why speeds are lower than last week yet?

Or why my router looses sync every morning?

Why is it so easy to sign up, but so difficult to cancel?

I submitted a cancellation form for one of my accounts on 26/02/2013. On 6/03/2013 I received an email saying that the account would be cancelled on 31/03/2013:

I have processed your request. The cancellation for user m******* will be processed on 31 March 2013. The service requires one calendar month notice period to cancel.

I recommend you download all your emails you wish to keep for m******* before 31 March 2013. This is to ensure that you do not lose any emails.

The billing is normally done one month in advance. The March subscription for the one 4MB uncapped ADSL was charged to your account on 28 February 2013. Please ignore the April 2013 invoice, as it will automatically be reversed once the account is cancelled.

So, I ignored the invoice when it came, but the April amount has not been reversed and MWEB has debited my bank account for another R539. I called and demanded a refund, but was told that someone higher up would call me back, but it could take up to a week(!) It was only after I threatened to dispute the transaction and block all further debit orders with my bank, that I was told someone would call me back today. Guess what? No one has called me back.

What a joke MWEB are.
 
I also downgraded another account to 1GB capped last month and they've billed me for two months (2 x R29).

Seriously?
 
I now have an account with Afrihost and Mweb. What a difference. Getting full bandwidth with Afrihost. Not good Mweb
 
Punishing my mweb service right now. Started an online backup of 100gb that will take a good part of this month and downloading 4 Adobe apps we purchased. These are all legit - so let me get a notice..........

Go to your bank and cancel the debit order. Ask for it to be reversed and take a copy of your cancellation request - just in case they ask.

I dont take $ h!7 like that.

I sent an email last week sometime requesting the cancellation forms from your cancellations department and they keep sending me mail saying that I need to fill in the cancellation form to complete my cancellation request.
I did not ask for them to start cancelling my account at all yet now they have proceeded in doing that.
I have since changed my account to a 1gb capped account so that I can keep my account open but now i cannot log onto my mweb account because it says my account isn't registered with mweb.

How do i see what i need to pay for this month now?

What is wrong with you accounts department?

Edit: Finally got onto the account. They changed the account to a 1gb account. Still not sure why they proceeding with cancellations though.

I am now in my cancellation notification month, awaiting the final debit and reversal..... not very promising from the looks of it.
If this reversal does not occur timely, I sure as hell gonna release a **** storm!!! BS like this is not needed.....
 
I submitted my cancellation form on the 28th and they did not reply whether it is correct and when it will be cancelled. I assume it is correct and if they bill me at the end of the month I will just go to the bank and dispute the debit order.
 
Same here, also waiting in cancellation limbo now. I wonder how many cancellations the recent outage spree triggered. I really hope we don't all have to go through this extra-debit mess. Think I'll just put a block on now, but I always wonder if the other side won't then be quick to put you on a blacklist for not paying accounts (whether they are wrong or not doesn't matter).

MWEB's cancellation effort is going to make it hard to ever want to sign up again - you don't run into a cave if you can't get back out quickly.
 
Oh no, also cancelled, hope I am not going to be billed for extra month.
 
Browsing has been inconsistent since seacom went down, but downloads including p2p has been back to normal the last week.
 
I don't understand why my connection is so **** at night but early morning it fine. Google, Youtube and other streaming sites like Twitch lags and I even get connection issues while gaming.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I checked the account and can see the package was cancelled at the end of March. There is 1 that was downgraded as well as you have mentioned. The information you received is correct, billing is done in advanced. I will follow up on when the April invoice will be reversed.

I will look into why no one has called you back as well as you mentioned. I'm not sure why you were given the information that someone will contact you within a week.

I would like to look at this from our side. Please can you PM me the MWEB email address or username. Also, do a speedtest with the MWEB account and the Afrihost account and send me the results please.
