MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

My 2c as an ex-Mweb customer:

I downgraded my 4Mbps Premium end of last month to a 1GB account, so as to only pay R29 for April, and cancelled the account so it terminates end of this month. I'm on 6Mbps Afrihost Business Uncapped. Currently downloading Mass Effect 3 through a PS3 proxy at 650KB/s, and my browsing still works. Afrihost's clientzone is epic btw. You can see your real time shaping and sort out your line issues - port resets, changing sync rates etc.
 
You guys giving yourselves extra stress when you not happy and getting frustrated with service. Just try another ISP, if it works better than cancel the one you don't feel is worth the hassle.
 
the problem comes in when you have to give a months notice...like i had to ...so you sit with not that nice line speed for another month ....to think that seacom could do all of this

Just take some initiative man! I instructed Mweb to downgrade me immediately to a 1GB account at the end of last month, which you're entitled to. Then I gave cancellation notice and ordered that my ADSL line be transferred back to Telkom as soon as possible. So Mweb is only costing me R29 this month and I'm on an Afrihost business uncapped account.

Ah damn I didn't know one could do this. I still have to wait till the end of April to sign up with Telkom,
 
**** THIS!!!! ALL STREAMING SITES ARE ABSOLUTELY DEAD!!!! AM I THROTTLED OR WHAT? :mad: It's truly infuriating that you have to make a lot of efforts to cancel your MWEB account. IT IS CHEATING!!!

I checked you account on my side and I cannot see any problems there.
Could you please PM me a tracert done to the MWEB site and one to the streaming site in question.

Same here except it's not just on streaming sites like Youtube for me but also on all sites resulting in terrible browsing.
When I do manage to get into Youtube, it buffers horribly on 240p resulting in me not even being able to watch a video at all nearly on a 4Mb uncapped line or just doesn't load the video at all.
All the tracerts I have run to mweb.co.za and to youtube.com time out.
Very disappointing :(
 
Here's my Speedtest result : 0.61Mbps Download, 0.40Mbps Upload and 393ms ping on a SA server... :(

Hi,

After calling the Call Centre, all is solved :)
A line reset and account refresh did it for me, now I'm getting my 4Mb speeds back with great ping.
360p videos on Youtube no problem and also 720p music videos load ok so I'm happy :)
 
Is there a problem guys?

I am having really slow download speeds this morning?

Everything. Took me more then 15 minutes to make my post in this thread. I cant run a speed test, it times out.

Hi Ecco

I had a look into your line readings and the attenuation is very high. I would advise contacting Telkom to sort out your line problems as this is causing your internet connectivity issues.
 
Pings to any North American gaming server seems to be higher than normal with I guess a lot of packet loss. Dota 2 NA and World Of Tanks NA unplayable.
