I would suggest requesting to speak to a manager.

Tried that. After 15 min of waiting and being shunted from Dept. to Dept. we were told "she's out for lunch" ... what a shocker

Not unexpected, emailed complaints and was told basically if you dont like it go elsewhere, and the terms and conditions were quoted to me. Still fail to understand how a company providing a product/service can get away with providing such crap.

My downloads maxed out at around 60kbps last night on a 4mbps line. Just last weekend I was getting > 400kbps.

MWeb google searches so fast today (sarcasm):

I was ready to say that I've been streaming in almost HD quality on Netflix on 1mbps with my MWEB connection, but then this

download speed of a legal download, something from download.com

How the **** can you assume the user is talking about ILLEGAL downloads? Do you know Blizzard / Riot etc uses torrent clients to distribute their content?

Did you know you can use Torrents for COMPLETELY LEGAL sharing of content?

Ah I see, so this is how Multichoice/Naspers are gonna combat piracy in SA... Get Mweb to throttle the **** outta everyone's torrents. Just a warning Mweb, if this is your attitude going forward you are going to lose me and a whole lot of other customers very fast.

Guys

I'm sorry if this sounds wrong, but there isn't anything intended by it.

What we would like is just for a test with a normal download to see what the speed is like, non p2p download.

I'm fully aware that there are completely legal torrents that can be used for sharing of content.

You sir are an idiot. You and you friend that posted below you.

Some people... overreact often do you? You sound like one of those people who get uncomfortable if they don't complain in a loud-mouth fashion about something for a short while.

If you pulled this kind of shirt in my shop you'd be on your arse in the street within seconds.

I have no problem with torrents being shaped. It's when HTTP downloads are included under the umbrella of blanket shaping that irks me. Afrihost does this and calls all HTTP downloads "naughty". As long as Mweb doesn't pull the same retarded move I have no problem of them shaping torrents during the day time.

Using an example of Blizzard using torrents to distribute content is IMO a bad one as an alternative HTTP downloads would always exist for the same content. I have used torrents for legal downloads but only on a rare occasion when I needed to dowload VMs which I in any case would do overnight.

I dont have a problem with them being shape during core business hours either, but at 10pm????

Some real thick-as-pigshyte comments from ragers in here, wow. Learn to read and keep your shameful comments to yourselves. RBP'ed as we don't need it in here.

I'm lucky as 10PM is not my bedtime nor do I live with my parents who force me to turn off my PC overnight.
