Yes, pretty much. My torrent briefly jumped to normal 240 kB/s for a couple minutes but is now back to 5-15 kB/s.

Hi dazzazzad

These services are shaped and gets the lowest priority on our Network.

Hi dazzazzad

These services are shaped and gets the lowest priority on our Network.

I've been with MWEB for years, main reason being initially the price and more recently my reason for staying has been because p2p speeds are almost always good, even during the day. Last 2 days have seen a complete change in the norm. If it's because something is happening with Seacom or whatever, then that explains it and I will remain patient. If this is now the norm, then I'll have to consider other options.

I've always got home and downloaded daily show and colbert in around 15 min ready to play in the background as I prepared dinner. I haven't even got onto todays eps because I'm still downloading yesterday's ones. Something has changed.

Downloading drivers for my laptop, speeds are below average, getting about 30kbps only.

P2P is in a bad way as well, downloaded a 700MB file at an average of 15kbps :O

Compared to the same time in January, when things were still great, I had done 108GB for the month, while this month I'm sitting on 61.75

Edit: I'm not going to lie, but the red teams performance is looking good based on that R1 promo.

Hi Xzib1t

Please send me your MWEB account details and I'll look into the part where you mention, driver downloads.

I have also noticed as of late HTTP seems to be toned down?

Downloaded the new blackberry software and it was running at 45KB/s, after that I downloaded the latest Skype it also ran at 45KB/s?

On 2X 4meg lines, 1 unshaped, 1 shaped. speedtest reports 3.6mbps+ but everything seems to be throttled on Mweb's network......

Don't forget NNTP I never manage over 30kbps on either line. Plus torrents seem to be shaped on my unshaped line......

Mweb it's time to reboot the whole network!

Hi Hummercellc

I just tested a Skype and Blackberry update download and the speed was on par with the 1MB line. Same setup as a customer.

Hi

Well I have been contacted by an MWEB rep that day regarding my issue. I spoke to him (which still did not sound positive btw) and he requested an email which I immediately sent. He said he would contact me yesterday morning.
He did not.
Nor have I received any emails from him nor MWEB right up till now.
It seems my problem has just been forgotten or ignored again.

This type of customer service is really unacceptable.

And in all fairness I need to be credited with all those amounts.
There isn't 2 ways about it.
Imagine you on a Talk 100 cellphone package and you decide to upgrade to a Talk 200 package. Can you ever be expected to pay for both the Talk 100 AND Talk 200 packages??

It's absurd. Yet MWEB is still trying to justify it!

MWEB Guy please have someone senior attend to this matter.

If I do not hear from MWEB by 3pm I am going to attempt to contact the offices of the CEO.

Thanks.

Hi rm501, I will follow up on this for you and i will provide you with feedback as soon as I can.

Just curious, am I the only happy customer here?

Apart from the ill conceived email they sent me my connection has been working as I expected it. Even now it is doing P2P at 150kb/s which is not bad considering the time of day and the fact that my account is shaped.

Thanks Mweb :)

Roux I have to refresh every YouTube video i watch 3 or 4 times for it to play. This is supposed to be an unshaped premium account. Not happy, not happy at all.

Just be thankful it's working for you.

What I cannot understand is that a month or so ago NNTP traffic wasnt shaped. i got full line speed any time of the day when downloading

Lately it speed starts to drop around 8 in the morning and then by the time 4pm comes the speed is around 30kb/s on my 2mb unthrottled line

So is NNTP deemed to be the same as torrents and howcome Rouxenator can be dling at decent speed right now but im shaped.

This service is slowly getting worse and Im having to consider other ISP's which I dont want to do

Good day Brenden_E, are you using your 1MB or 4MB account?
