What's the details for the mweb news server?

news.mweb.co.za 119?

Which username/pass do we use? Our ADSL login?

Hi feo

news.mweb.co.za & port 119 is all you need.

Hi Tjoker

I had a look into your account and the call back is happening at 20h30 as per your request.

My mistake. Edward did call me at 20h30. Did a few things on my pc, speedtest is 100%, but everything else 50-60% of my adsl speed. Youtube is definitely better. I'm definitely still not happy about normal http download speeds being half of what im paying for....

Asked him to schedule another call back at 11am tomorrow

FTP is dead, newshosts at 50kbps and torrents wont even connect to peers

Please mweb fix this now honestly

I have also had slower News Servers and general M-Web service the past say 2 weeks.

This happened before... wasn't it in Jan or Feb? Anyways... it did sort itself out and lasted until now.

e.g I have nothing running on my line and really struggling to load a good few YouTube videos (360p) and News Servers are 10kb per second.

I have a 1Mbps line. I am watching some vsauce now on YouTube and that channel seems to always work alright.. 360p. Really does seem like it's certain YouTube videos or certain servers that data is being pulled from.

I have honeslty had enough of this horrible **** speeds while trying to download anything.

WHY the **** does mweb give the same excuse for everything instead of trying to actually use what people are saying and FIX it!

Its LONG LONG after hours and I like many other want the speed that we should be getting!!!

Something is definately wrong. With Axxess I'm getting 64Kb torrent downloads (which is also pathetic), but HTTP downloads run at 660Kb. With Mweb, torrents are 5-10Kb, and HTTP around 50Kb.

Good MOrning, I have had a look at your usage for the 19th and the 20th. YOu managed to move roughly 37gigs of data over those two days; moving 20gigs yesterday.

This does not show a connection indicative of a very slow speeds.

No i fully understand that :)

Just last night things seemed to be litteraly DEAD :(

Was just bringing it to attention that ti was long long after hours but was crawling :)

Please note that I always advise my clients not to speed watch, but instead to look at the overall usage at the end of the month/day.

I find this to be very true,as the saying goes "a Download watched is a download not finished"

HOWEVER. Your T&C "advise" that you do not want unattended downloads. LOL

Probably a glitch in the matrix... Got 100KB/s to 300KB/s speeds this morning... Not great... But at least its something... Last night was near non existant on the HTTP download side though..

The problem with that logic is it works in favor of only the people that download overnight, others like myself need to switch off our pc's at night. Slow speeds during daytime can cancel out whole ways of usage for me. Meaning if usenet is only 25KBps untill late night it's useless to me, forces me to use torrents instead, which means I end up with a even greater usage size as I have to upload as well.... seeding is generally a pain anyway.

FTP for me trying to download motherboard drivers is dead.

Thought I would just bring that up?

I'm downloading an ISO via HTTP from a local site and can't get more than 50KB/s on a 4Meg account and line.

I guess you tell your clients not to speed watch because it's so disappointing.
