MWEB Guy, after speaking to your support staff last night, they promised me a SMS with the reference number to have the line checked by Telkom. Still waiting. Has a fault been logged, or not?

Brand spanking new Netgear 300. When I suggested it's the line, I got told quite emphatically that it's the router.

Good Morning

We have an open escalation for you, reference number: 1167521

Ok... So is there no way you/I can find out? What number can I phone at Telkom? Because this is now a bit ridiculous.

Good Morning

The telephone number you can dial is: 10210

News server is absolutely dead.

Test the server and get the error that it has been reset by peer.

Good Morning, are you still having trouble with your news servers this morning?

News server acting like it should, stable in game ping for a while now and streaming not acting like a spoilt brat.

Just something positive for the thread Mweb Guy ;)

Thanks for the positivity Mephisto_Helix, really do appreciate it :D

MWEB Guy, what would it cost to have just my e-mail accounts with MWEB? 2 x 1GB emails, my two existing ones.

I think that would cost you R55.00 each, for mail box only accounts

Anyone else's connection gone extremely slow? I am struggling to open up both local and international sites. I have restarted both my pc and router and neither has improved browsing speeds.
Can't even load the speedtest site to check current speed.

EDIT: Getting extreme amounts of packet loss (testing to mybroadband.co.za). Testing with Ping Plotter I was only able to get through to the site 2 times on 29 attempts and received between 40 and 78% packet loss during those tests.

That would be per month. Rather get new ones.

I registered at ******@live.com. Then you are rid of ISP dependencies for life.

The packet loss was the reason I left, it happened every day! since leaving Mweb I don't have this problem......

Anyone have any more info on the Pinelands problem ?

I have clients connecting to other isp's from a 531... number and they are not having any issues.

MWEB Guy, for the third time without a response...

See #8312

Hi

I just checked your line on my side and it seems your attenuation is currently on 63db.
This will certainly be impacting your connection and cause you to suffer a degraded service.
I will have to log a line fault for you and have our team follow up on this fault.

This is what I dont understand, a mail box only for R55 or a 1GB ADSL account with free mail box for R29 ?
Or am I misunderstanding something here

I upgraded to the premium uncapped 4mpbs today, so far very happy, speediest.net giving me a solid 4-5 Mbps result, I know torrents and newsgroup is shaped during the day, what time does this get unshaped? Also http downloads from testmy.net I'm getting 70odd Kbps, newshost at 100kbps. Like my old 1mbps line.. Streaming is super quick tho.. Steam is running at a full 415kbps, am I missing something? Thanks

I was going to report that everything is fine and working properly, but it's not. news.mweb.co.za is slow as hell again, can't remember when I got decent speeds from it. Everything else working as it should though.
