MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

Hi MWEB Guy,

The past two weeks my connection has been horrible. Started very suddenly, but I decided to give it some time. Download rate varies between 15\30\40. Sites are timing out, Youtube is unusable. My ADSL line stats are still the same. A friend living nearby (<1KM, same street) also on MWEB Uncapped 1MB ADSL has the exact same issues. My connection has been flawless for months, I'm very happy so far. I have logged a ticket with Telkom, but no response yet.

ETA: Milnerton CPT.

If Speedtest loads, I get half my supposed download speed. Sometimes my upload speed is twice my download speed? Currently getting 10Kbps from Youtube.

Morning shooter_za

Thank you for all the information provided.

Please can you PM me the MWEB account details so that I can look into this from our side and provide you with feedback.

I have, numerous times. I'm going to reopen the fault and see what happens. Could you guys please check on your side?

Morning Schitzo

I would suggest that you keep following up with Telkom regarding the line fault that is open. I checked on our side and there is not reported issue in the area.

The previous e-mails from the abuse department didn't shed any light then, I presume?

Thanks for the feedback, let me know if you are not able to connect when you get home. We can then troubleshoot further.

Lol Copa the previous emails that where send they told me to ignore it as formy router did not close connection's,,, so they told me to just switch of my router every 3rd day for 10min...And then last week i forgot to stop a download during the day... That was all.

And then now well i do max 200gig a month lol so ja my mates do like in 400+ a month. I do not use ssl,p2p or torrents....

Good Morning PieterShaun,

Our abuse team have received your emails and you will be receiving a response from our abuse department in due course.

Please be aware that its not neccessarily the amount of data being moved over the month, instead prolonged transfers over consecutive days could also trigger a warning. Bypassing our shaper, etc.

Hi MWEB Guy,

I have a serious problem, as in critical. Telkom is only installing ADSL at my home today, which means I am not using my favourite ISP at home yet!

Guess who I will be calling once the installation has been done? :erm:

Good MOrning Fidiot :).. let me know when the line is installed and I will have a consultant call you... :D

Just a warning, I have about 30 gigs of HTTP downloads I have to do over the next couple of days (updates to software), already done 7 gigs

Hahaha... scared of getting an email? :p

Not particularly, I'd drop MWEB in a heartbeat if a couple tens of gigs of legitimate downloads triggered anything. However, I've never ever done that amount of HTTP downloading in one go, so I guess this is just... insurance if anything mysterious happens. :D
