Hi Segg

Those speeds are on par for a 1Mb line.
Woops, I think im going to be slated for this, I had the wrong settings on speedtest.net (Showing Mbps not Kbps from the days of me trying to sort out my 384 line) sorry for the "bad press" :p Still rate Mweb gives the best uncapped accounts :D (Dunno how people can stand the whole rolling window c@p from other ISP's)

Test conducted on Mon Aug 13 2012 22:28:01 GMT+0200 (SAST)

Download Speed: 277 kbps (34.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 301 kbps (37.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 38 ms

Could not even load speedtest.net

Was getting better speeds on 384k, and this is on 4meg. yay

1mbps
Download Speed: 934 kbps (116.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 424 kbps (53 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 40 ms

all good

I see Telkom do say 256kbps upload for 1 meg but sync at 512kbps on my 1meg line.

However Telkom do say that the 10meg lines sync at 1meg up and i can confirm they do in fact, but Mweb seems to think 10meg lines sync at 512kbps up?

Good Morning Hummercellc,

Please refer to the following link for more information on the upload speeds in relation to line speeds.

Good Morning Lazy.Me,

Please provide me your MWEB account details via private message and I will look into this for you.

Hey guys

Recently moved to mweb for 1mbs uncapped ADSL. Yesterday morning my adsl was fine, got home
and internet was down. Try to browse and I get this page http://landingpages.mweb.co.za/LandingPagesHome/Error605.aspx.
Phone telkom to ask whats happening, they say my adsl line was cancelled. So i get it reinstated. Lady said it would take 3 hours.
3 Hours later I get exactly the same page. Can ping gmail, facebook, mweb etc all fine.
Try again in the morning before i leave for work, same thing.
Phone telkom again this morning, and the lady tells me that everything looks fine with my account
but it seems my line didn't/doesn't sync.

Tells me I should phone back later when I'm home so they can troubleshoot. Any ideas guys?

Tx

Good Morning truedeath, the error message pretty much says it all. The DSL line not active or the DN not registered on the MWEB account.

If you'd like I could double check on my side?

Hey MWEB Guy, thanx for the quick response.

Could you explain to me what "DSL line not active" and "DN not registered on mweb account mean"?

How does one get their DSL line to be active, and what does DN stand for?

Telkom says there are no blocks and I do have a 1mbps line registered with them.

Not sure how they are gonna troubleshoot.

Please provide me your MWEB account details and I will check this for you. "DN registration" the telephone number needs to be registered/entered on our system if the client has selected the DN secure option.

Hi Mweb Guy

Just to let you know; so far service has still been great. Had no issues at all; browsing fine; downloading fine; latency acceptable; streaming media online no issues.

THANKS AGAIN MWEB for great product and service!
