MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

Since Friday I've been having issues with online gaming. Packet loss and an increased ping once again. Sites are fine, downloads are fine, it's just affecting the gaming again. Please can it be looked at long term because it keeps being an issue every so often and it's just irritating. Currently sitting on a ping of 320 and packet loss of between 0.3% and 1%. It makes everything all jerky

Hi Mephisto_Helix

Is this only happening when you are gaming? How about your browsing experience, how is that?

Everything else is groovy, even the streaming, it's just that gaming connection acting up again. These yanks must really hate us, lol.

If I decide to cancel my Mweb uncapped account when in the month do I need to do it and how? cant access my account on mweb.co.za

The line readings on the account is fine. I would suggest popping over to our games zone forum, speak to or dedicated gaming admins and they will provide you with more information.

Hi ichigo

You will need to inform us via writing from the account holder's email address on the account. A form will be sent to you to complete and to be retruned to us. We do require 1 calendar months notice period.

I will send you more information via PM.

@MWEB Guy,

Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit. Do you know of MWEB would take part or offer for that matter in the MSAN/ISAN exchange trails that Telkom has started today?

I'm on one of that exchanges and was wondering if MWEB will offer 20/24/40Mbps+ any time soon? Currently with MWEB for 10Mbps uncapped data and line is with Telkom.

Thnx in advance.

Hi Hunted, currently we only have up to 10Mb accounts.

I have sent this off to the powers that be for some more information.

Hi guys, can anyone confirm if they can watch this video stream without issue?

http://www.twitch.tv/taketv at 240p

I'm on a 4meg uncapped account with my router synching at (Kbps): 3243

It is unwatchable, and I'm trying to figure out if it is just me or everyone

Nothing was streaming when I arrived so I just looked at the "Berlin 01" replay, fullscreen no problems.

Your line is syncing at an odd speed though as speeds move in multiples of 1024 3mbit should be 3072 and 4mbit 4096 so maybe you are on a 4mbit profile and your router is struggling to handle the line causing errors ?

Dear Mweb,

I have finally been able to register on the gaming forum after having issues with the site and it's error codes. I am now unable to post and receive any help regarding my crappy ingame latency and packet loss until such time as the game forum admin ok's my account. Please could you not make it so hard for customers to get any joy with issues making their time very frustrating.

Regards.

PS - this once again seems to be a Durban link issue as friends playing in CT especially, have no damn problems!

Morning.

Last night my internet died. This is now the second time this has happened in the last couple of days.

A router reboot causes the router to sync, but to connect to MWEB, I appear to need to do it manually in the router (IE - tell it to connect from within the router interface).

I am just trying to figure out where this issue lies - Any advice would be appreciated!

Damnit, happened again.

DSL Status: UP
DSL Modulation Mode: ADSL2+
DSL Path Mode: INTERLEAVED
Downstream Rate: 2037 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 503 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 26 db
Upstream Margin: 19 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 28
Upstream Line Attenuation: 17
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0

Don't know if anything there is usual.

I just need to figure out if the issue is with A) Router B) Telkom or C) MWEB.

I don't want the weeks of aggravation I went through last time (was Telkom in the end).

Hi copacetic

I have checked the line and account, everything seems fine.

If there is a possibility could you test with another router to see if it isn't the router dropping the connection. I can see that the current connection has been stable fo almost 2 hours.

This is my spare router already. :D

I'll see how it goes, if it happens again, I'll make a plan.

Hey MWEB Guy

Line sync dropped quite a bit today! Dont know if u can see it in the records, feels quite slow, but not because of the sync speeds, it's taking ages to open web pages etc

Hi

I have synced your line back to 4Mb and recreated your port.
Allow 30 minutes then restart your router and test. Let me know if your experience improves.

Thanks MWEB Guy

It just seems as if the experience is just getting worse and worse, January and I'm over 4mb, and now on 2? I'm getting 2080 I mean I might as well move over to the 2mb account, yet soon it will most likely drop to 1.5..... Possibly the line is corroding? And needs to be replaced
