Hi guys

Are torrents completely dead during the day and at night things are fine?

When I go to sleep at night torrents are dead, in the morning when I wake up they are fine, then at around lunchtime they get slower and slower and then die.

Last night it only managed to download about 500mb for the whole night, so torrents worked last night but only just barely. Just checked again, and I still can't even get 1kbs
 
torrent traffic prioritization will always be lowest, get used to it or find a service where you can download via http instead (like that down storm guys)
 
Yip, I got no problem with it being lowest priority. Just wondering whats up with the network seeing as its being shaped to oblivion and it never used to do that in recent times.

Well, it's long weekend, so probably the network is being slammed by people sitting at home bored out of their minds already. The only reason why torrent traffic would decline like that is if they had to switch to their failover bandwidth because Seacom ****ed up something again or if there's just a lot of traffic
 
Also crawling along here with torrents (0.2K every now and then, otherwise nothing at all...). Browsing itself is ok atm, but not as great as it has been for the past few months.
 
odd thing, i now saw one of my torrents worked almost fullspeed (slow line, long queue) but the others were having trouble. Updating them wasnt working, so i closed down the app and restarted it. Looked like it was starting to update but then the timeouts started again and now nothing works again.
 
Anyone else having issues with Mweb atm? Trying to figure out if my DSL is dying or if Mweb keeps on disconnecting...
 
Seems like torrents are working again, either this is a Telkom issue or shaping is being a bit too vicious this month.

Hi Zolly

I have refreshed your account. Please allow for 30min to pass then reboot PC & router. I'm having issues with getting readings from your Telkom line and confirm many dropped connections.

Try bypassing the filter/splitters.

Please make contact with them to check the line.

How ethical is it to cut someone's account on a Friday afternoon after 16:00 and then tell them they have to wait until Tuesday to speak to someone at the abuse department?

Also if i was abusing, why didn't you send a mail to my hotmail account and not to the mweb email address that i don't use?

Isn't it false advertising saying an account is uncapped and then go and cancel their account?

I can only imagine the frustration you going through. Please keep in mind, in the T&C's we mention that all correspondence will go to the primary MWEB email address. If you do not make use of the email address, we do allow for email forwarding which allows you to receive our communication.

The reason why you'll need to wait till Tuesday is because Monday is a public holiday.

With regards to Uncapped, yes it is uncapped and you can download as much as you'd like, however, we ask that you adhere to the AUP(Acceptable Usage Policy), which can be found under the T&C's.

We take into consideration all our customers, so that a general customer experience via our Network is 1 of quality hence we ask that the AUP is adhered to.

Why not do it at a respectable time when there is still time to do something?

If you are saying " yes it is uncapped and you can download as much as you'd like", then why did you cut me off?

I have only had a 4mb account for about a month, so how do you generate a trend and how do you justify cutting my account?

At what point did i use too much? and how do you justify your action?

How much is too much?
 
Hi MWEB Guy, could you refresh my account or let me know whether there is a problem in Durban please? My International has been insanely slow for a week now and at the moment it I am unable to load most International pages. My pings are in the Upper triple digit spectrum and my Tracerts are worse! :(
