Hey,

Having ping issues in Cape Town again. Or at least I am. I'm currently on my other ISP as the pings were screwed, but will post up my mweb latencies ASAP.

Please do so and also provide me with a trace route to a local and international site.

Well mine seems to have sorted itself out. Ah well :/

MWEB Guy can you please log a line fault for me. My line is only syncing at 3.1mbps down from 8mbps a few days ago. Checked everything with the router to no avail. My guess is something has gone wrong at the exchange. I'm on the 4mb/s package with a 10mb/s line.

Your line readings are all in order.
I have reauthed your account. Allow 30 minutes for this to be completed then restart your router and test.

Anyone else getting disconnected over night ? its been happening to me for more than a week now have to restart my modem a few times to get it working again sometimes have to restart PC too.

Is NNTP being shaped? On my 2mb line, I have always managed 220kbps. But since the weekend, that has gradually been reduced to an average of 80kbps. At first I thought it was Astraweb... until I tested my connection on my Telkom backup account and downloads are going steady @ 220kbps. Definitely not my line or Astraweb. When I first connect, transfer speeds start out at 220, but within a few seconds are down to 80. Everything else runs fine. Just NNTP. Have not tested torrents as that has always been bad since signing up - and don't really need it anyway.

I know what you mean... lets hope the testing phase is not to long....

Hi there,

Noticed today that MWEB announced that they will contact about 120 users to take part of the 40Mbps VDSL trail. Do you by any chance have more details about this?

Do you know what the selection criteria is?

Thnx in advance.
