These results also reflect that the problem is closer to the remote end, as the latency spikes on the 2nd hop.

Does you problem also only occur at certain times during the day? Could you provide me comparative tracers in the morning as well?

What can be done about this?

We will need to log a fault with Telkom as they will need to investigate.

Please provide me the traceroute for today as it would help.

Hey Guys

I stay in Johannesburg - Auckland Park area. I have a 1mb uncapped adsl account with mweb
and I believe my line has been upgraded to 2mb. I'm getting about 150 - 155kb/s down with my 1mb mweb account.

Now I am just wondering, what would my speeds be if I got a 2mb account?
If i look at my routers' adsl connection page, it says 1526 kb link down. Is that my max speed?

I would like to look into why the line is syncing at 1526kbps. Please can you PM me the MWEB email address or customer number so that I can look into it.

Good Day Oliverwww, we have pre-selected the list of clients that will be taking part in the 40mb trial. These clients will have to meet specific criteria with regards to line conditions and so forth. If your aunt is on the list we will make contact with her.
 
Torrents are absolutely crawling again today. Until 10am they were flying at 207kbs and now they are down to 24 - 27kbs :(

Afternoon Qrox, torrents receive the lowest priority on our network and speeds with torrents are not guaranteed.

The higher the demand for high preference traffic, the less bandwidth available for the lower preference traffic, such as torrents.
 
Looks like the news server is borked again, just nothing happening on it. Anyone else?

Edit - it heard me and came right before I raged at it :D

My news server downloads have been very slow for the past 2 to 3 weeks. I am not getting above 50KB/s on a 2mbps line. Torrent are also not that fast at only 70KB/s. I used to get +190KB/s speeds. Please help.

Good evening, are you running your torrents and news downloads simultaneously?

Also please be aware that torrent speeds are not guaranteed.
