Hi Mweb Guy

Im not sure which number i should use to call telkom, the town where i live was also flooded yesterday. That might have something to do with the line instability?

Thnx for the reply :)

Hi PostmanPot

Are you using the 1mb MWEB account?

Also how many active devices when you are testing the streaming? How are you connecting wirelessly or via cable?

Hey

1Mbit account, 10Mbit line.

One active device.

Cable.

So nothing out of the norm. Always been great but something seems to be up since +- 4 - 12 days ago. Will keep monitoring. Speedtests are always good except for the higher latency I've noticed. @mweb seems to give about 35ms to MWEB Cpt, @dslmweb about 15ms. Used to be 9ms. My Telkom account still gives 9ms.

Thanks for the feedback, please do keep monitoring and keep me informed.

Experiencing really slow ADSL at the moment since 6pm. YouTube is streaming at 10kb/s :(

I'm getting lots of disconnects. My modem disconnected 4-5 times in the past 15 minutes.

Evening Space_Chief, I have recreated your port; please reboot your router for 2 to 5 minutes and let me know if that has made any difference.

Also note that we are still awaiting feedback on that fault we have logged to check for congestion at your exchange.

My NZB downloads are crawling.

Left NNTP for a week since it was crawling last week. Still no improvement. Getting 30-50 kbps max on 2mb line. Hoped to get to watch a download I started this evening, but it will only only finish in 4 hours time - which is disappointing to say the least. I only have +- 300mb left on a capped account which is running at full line speed on NNTP - so not my line or Telkom. Just heavily shaped. This only started happening at the beginning of this month. Before that, things were awesome all of the time. Now it's hit and miss.

Been downloading a 3gb file and its only got 1.4gb in about 3 hours.

Poor speeds here as well.

EDIT: Just tested YouTube, initially fast but after the initial burst it is quite slow, on 240p.

Evening, I have changed a setting on your account. Please let me know if this makes a difference once you reconnect with your MWEB account.

Ended up buying some cheap capped data to let it do what I need. And it is. If this is the way things are going to pan out on MWeb, I may as well get the cheapest uncapped offering (probably Afrihost) for when I don't need speedy downloads and use a capped account (possibly Afrihost too - still looking)for when speed is a requirement. May work out more in the long run... which is not ideal, but will suit my requirements when need be - like tonight.

Evening Bar_Rat, I cannot pick up anything wrong on your account or line at the moment. Lets see if connecting with a new IP makes any difference, please change your username realm to @dslmweb.co.za.

Will do. Excuse the post above, but I am having negative thoughts about Mweb right now.

Evening Mike43110, please provide me your MWEB account details via direct message.
