MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

Hi

Does anyone know of any ADSL issues in the Randburg area? I stay in Linden and our pings to our locals sites (even speedtest.net on the MWEB Connect Johannesburg server produces 350+ pings?

This has been ongoing all day.
 
Hi,

I need help with my connection please. I went away for the weekend and got home yesterday only to find my internet connection that worked very well the last couple of months to be very slow when accessing international sites. Some of the issues include:

-Can access speedtest.net but dashboard never loads or gives an error.
-Can access the Mybb speedtest but it fails at the download test, local and international
-Can access youtube but videos do not load on 360p (was never an issue before)
-Can access, CNN and BBC but when clicking on an article it does not load.
-When I go to overclock.net the green background loads and then it just hangs.
-Local sites seem to work just fine.

I have rebooted the router a couple of times and tried different pc's and browsers, but issue remains.

I am in Faerie Glen, Pretoria.

MWEB, have to commend you guys.
I run a 1MB account, and a 2MB Synch from Telkom - myself and a mate had a 'mini LAN' at my place - both playing BF3 with 23-26ms pings !

Hi MWEB Guy,

Just a thanks to your call center. Pings were shocking last night (480ms to local servers in speedtest). They guys reset my account and after a modem reset things had vastly improved (47ms local pings).

The real question is: Why is a reset needed?

I can't even open the download page. Managed to do that this morning and after 200mb it flaked out when it went below 5kb/s. Did you fix it now? Can I try again?

please let me know if you still having an issue downloading the file.
I checked the account on my side and all seems in order.
 
I am getting used to mweb service and I must say I'm impressed. Sure the download (torrents) speeds don't hit full line speed but value for money it can't be beaten. No limit if u don't bypass their shaping and HTTP and gaming have really solid speeds.
