FYI, MWEB hosts the local Black Ops 2 servers... but NAT ingame is Medium? (Using MWEB 4mb uncapped) So I dial up with VOXWildfire and my NAT is OPEN ?? Go figure?!? Why so?

EDIT: must be my router.... I do a dialup via my PC to MWEB (not using the router dialup) and NAT is Open ... hmmmm

Over the past week Mweb has been shaping my P2P. I understand why and I'm okay with it but since today they've started Blocking it completely. I've heard the lies that they don't do these things but when i switch to Pre-Paid Dsl on the same line
it runs at full speed.
So the proof is hard to avoid.

I can assure you that we do not block our customers from downloading via P2P, we employ dynamic shaping on our network.

Also most prepaid adsl accounts are either shaped differently to uncapped accounts or are not shaped at all and therefore you will have different experience with these two accounts.

Then can you please explain why it's stuck on 0kb/s during the day until 23:30? 0kb seems very blocked to me but maybe your definition of shaping at MWEB is different. Signed up with WebAfrica this afternoon Uncapped and the speeds are much faster....

I am currently running P2P on my side, its been running for the past 5 or minutes.

I will continue to run them and see what I can pick up from there.

Thank you. I've been with with Mweb for years and this is the first time that my account has been blocked like this.

@MWEB Guy

I'm officially confused. Using a Afrihost 10mbs uncapped I was able to play for more than 10 mins without being disconnected. However at 9mins sharp on mweb 4mbs uncapped I was disconnected.

All left to do is to retry this and see what happens on exact same run for 10mins with AH. Getting a lot of loot and xp this way :erm:

( yes I forgot about the mweb guy calling me, I just didn't make my after work... slept for 2 hours  )

:edit
DC finally occurred with AH too. One test remains... another pc to rule out my box as the issue. Then Only thing after that is telkom... waiting on them for FR fix.

Just tested Mweb with Glasnost test to check if anything is strange and on MWEB it times out at 340 seconds left. On Axxses and WebAfrica the test completes. Times out!!!!! Blocked not shaped retried a few times always the same.

Good-buy Mweb looking at all these complaints I'm sure there's still thousands of people you can BS for a quick buck.
MWEB's new slogan: 3de World ISP for a 3de world country.

I have been experiencing the same behavior om my 2 meg account. From 23:30 everything opens and runs as per normal. Can this be explained?

I finally have a name for this:

disconnect 3007 error: DC every 5 - 10 mins

possible fix:

connect to general chat.

Hi fbman

I checked the account for you and it seems in order. Also checked the line and there is nothing that stands out.
Your attenuation is currently on 22db.

I can however see loads of disconnects on the account. This seems more like an intermittent connection issue.
Are you able to test your connection with a different router or ISP account, I'd like to see if you get the same sort of problem.

It should help us to identify what the possible cause could be.

Good Morning Mweb Guy

My line is getting worse.. Last night the attenuation was at 59db from the normal 22db and from around 10pm last night I was unable to connect to mweb at all.. according to my router logs it connected again around 5am.

I tested with another router and it did not help. I could not test without another ISP,as I cant stay synced long enough to connect. THis morning the line was at 24db again and stayed connected up to 30minutes a time..

Up to Wednesday, this line never lost sync and was the most stable line I have ever had and it synced at 10 Meg (recently moved to a new place) had this line since August.

Telkom did a port recreate last night .. no help.. I will be phoning them today to test the line.. Is there anything you can do from mwebs side, as I dont want them to blame mweb and then mweb blames telkom and nothing gets done

thanks

Hi

I have checked the account and the line again, readings at this moment if time seems fine.
You account also looks good and I cannot see any issues there.

I would advise perhaps asking Telkom to drop your line speed as a test to maybe 6mbps or 8mbps for the weekend.
Then test and see if makes a difference, confirm with them if you'd be able to upgrade the line again to 10mbps at no cost if it doesn't work.

Hi Mweb Guy

No internet, nada, zilch, dead in the water since Tuesday out here in the Wynberg area in CT. When is this Telkom outage going to be resolved...any feedback ....this is no longer a mere inconvenience.

................ as I dont want them to blame mweb and then mweb blames telkom and nothing gets done

Unfortunately, if you read the posts the last few weeks, this is exactly what is happening.

Also, everybody complains about the "funny" shaping and "funny" times of shaping and what happens? Zero, nada, niks. Only thing that happens is "PM me your details and I will check" Then a few hours later " We can't find anything wrong with your account. Keep on trying and let us know....." Then between the lines, "now go ***** yourself and leave this thread alone"

Let's make this clear "0 to 10kB/s does not mean dynamically shaped. It means shaped(throttled) into non existence. Best effort my a**.

I'm one of the suckers that signed up for the 6 month "special". You will note by some of my posts in this thread, that my experience is pathetic.
I did a whopping 2GB last night. On AH I did on average 7GB a day on my puny 1MB line. So please, don't blame Telkom or my line.

I don't care about a "possible" infringement from the mods. At least I voiced my opinion on every bodies behalf.

Disclaimer: MWEB guy, this is not directed at you personally, as I'm sure you are only doing as told. It's directed at the draconian view of the MWEb management.

Hi maximum

Please could you pm me your MWEB account info and I will look into this.

Hi,

I have asked this question 2 so far on the forums, and dot recall any response. How have I been able to connect for months with supposedly an incorrect password, and actually download on average 100GB per month. I called Support and they also never answer my question?? Please explain.

Hi

I have just checked your account and I cannot see any authentication issues.
It would reflect on our system that the password you using is not correct.
If however your are deliberately typing the incorrect password and it still connects, I would suggest that we change the password.

If you'd like to change the password, let me know and we can have it reset for you.
