I had a look into your account and found you have an ongoing line problem, which we are dealing with. Have you logged the line fault with us?

Yes and Telkom was here, and according to them they found a fault with our line but they fixed it already.

So I don't have anything to do with mweb but I like to browse this thread and read up.

I will tell u this, some of u need to remember there are people out there that can't get adsl at all( hence telkom non theless):D

but not why I posted here.I think if i was mnr mweb guy I would have gone bonkers by now, keeping track of every fault, every ones details , forum names and so on.

Again must say very well done :D
 
eish, streaming last week or so has been a tad bad.

1 minute a clip starts right off the bat, but then navigate to 2nd clip and it either takes a long time to load, or it loads extremely slow.

It's still quite erratic.

Youtube: Can often not stream a 240p video.
Mybroadband: Tooka bout 5mins to navigate to this thread.
Other sites just keep timing out.

I need to know what is going on, if it's something specific to KZN routes, I need to know.

My line seems fine, sync is okay, pings are low, I can get full speeds from various sites but Youtube and some random others are utterly pathetic. Youtube is a big deal for me and many others.

Also noticed from Gmail, I can't download attachments faster than 140kb/s a lot of the time.

I am also potentially signing up 2 MWEB accounts tomorrow but I am not totally satisfied with the product for my own use, let alone to put my rep on the line for more.

I tested some Youtube clips from my side ( same setup as a client ) and streaming seems fine. There was the obvious buffering I had to do( small 7sec pause) but thereafter smooth :-)

Are you running downloads in the background while trying to stream Youtube videos?
 
Just signed up for a 4MB uncapped trial. I'm on a 10MB line. First impressions are good except for Youtube. I cannot stream without buffering even on low resolution videos (nothing else happening in the background). Have I just caught a bad time or will this improve? I'm coming from Axxess 10MB uncapped which I've been generally disappointed with except Youtube which always streams at 720p without ever buffering.

The YouTube issues seem to be pretty regional.

For example, I'm in the Garden Route (Western Cape) and I can stream 720p without any problems at all. When I signed up the first month was tricky, but since then I haven't come across any problems at all.

I obviously can't give you any certainty that it will get better (I think others like Mephisto Helix have had consistent problems for months now).

As I've mentioned, I have tested Youtube vids and can't replicate your experience. There are other customers who are having no problem at all also.

Monitoring has been turned on your account yesterday as agreed and we did say use the connection for the next 2 days and from there we will provide feedback.

I'm on a 1MB Uncapped account, but only stream YouTube at 360p. No buffering. Haven't had an issue yet.

Just me and no extra downloads. Today seems much better though. I'll keep an eye on it. Overall the network performs very well I have to say. The low latency to London make my work day just that bit more responsive. Good stuff.
