been having issues from today in paulshof area. Everything was fine, untill this morning:(

Rate (Kbps): 2048 512

Hi Just wanted to know if anyone else is having Dsl speed issues in and around the Cape Town CBD area.
 
Yeah I think they on leave too, I just called the Tech support number and Mweb's Business hours for Xmas is 08:00 to 20:00
So no luck getting hold of any one now :(

Yeah Yeah I understand even they deserve a break, But do they not have any non Xmas celebrating techs, just a question ( Really really sorry if anyone gets offended)

My torrents are running at 40Kbps, instead of normal 90-100. Anyone else? Normal 1mb uncapped account. Are they throttling during a certain time during the day?

Hi bees

Please be advised that torrent speed has never been guaranteed by us and we have been transparent about this on the thread.

Torrents are a contended service and we do not throttle any of our ADSL customers.

If you are normally getting speeds of up to 100kb/s on a torrent then there could possibly be bypassing taking place. Please provide me with your MWEB account details.

EPIC fail on my part. I had a scheduler running in uTorrent to limit download to 40Kbps between 15h00 and 18h00 so the wife don't nag about slow internet when she comes home from work. I'm normally not at home during these times in the week so didn't think to look at that now. Line is back running at between 88 and 94 Kbps.

And no, I'm not using ANY kind of bypassing. Normal modem, normal Windows, uTorrent running torrents. No special ports or SSL or anything. Sorry for the false alarm, let me know if I'm in the wrong...
