Test conducted on Monday, December 31, 2012 10:57:47 PM

Download Speed: 186 kbps (23.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 176 kbps (22 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 171 ms

1mbps Package on a 2mbps line speeds after 02:00 in the morning even worse don't know whats happening. Are there any issues in the wynburg Cape Town area I should know about?
 
BTW torrents running at full speed even higher than allowed 1mbps package 2mbps line 200kbps awesome!! Just browsing speed is a joke at night early morning. Please advise if there is a reason for this

yea dude. its the torrents that is wringing the living **** out of your connection. leaving little to no spots open for a browsing connection (the dslam and/or router has a limit in the number of connections it can make/take at any point in time)

Turn off your "legal" downloads for a few minutes during that period and try browsing again

Sorry I think you misunderstood my D/L aren't running there off while i try to browse. I understand running them at the same time is stupid so it's not my "legal" downloads causing the problem it's got to be something else. I've switched DNS servers but it doesn't seem to help.
 
ive been having issues since last night. reboot my router and it connects again for a few min then drops. think there is dns issues or something. highly annoying

I have reauthed your account, allow 30 minutes to pass then restart your router and test.

Thanks, happened again and I phoned again, while I was on the phone the line dropped. I'm back on the Telkom account now and will be checking. Phoned Telkom but apparently I'm unable to log a fault because I need to phone back in office hours (after having to type my number in twice and my cellphone and getting the "unnecessary call out fee" crap)

It appears as if the Telkom account is doing the same thing. So since there's no Telkom support of any kind, I think I'll have to go outside for a change :eek:
 
Hi mweb Guy, just a quick one regarding your billing system. Do u debit in advance? I.e prior to usage?

Yes they do. So, for example, you sign up in the middle of the month, at the end of the month they'll charge you a pro-rata fee including the next month's access fee. You pay monthly in advance
 
Is anybody having any sort of problems with youtube? Even if I pause a 360p video for 30 seconds it still buffers frequently.
 
Mwebguy can you perhaps lower my internet line to a 1mb im currently on 2mb but my noise margin is so crap these days that it makes my line unbareble when downloading updates in xbl... According to my router im connecting at 1.5mb but its killing my noise margin... God dammit i hate telkom thia line just gets worse as time goes by

Hi Wolfy

The speed has been dropped.

The attenuation was on 65db after the line sped drop it's now on 63.5 still very bad. I see there is an open fault logged on your account.
