Youtube is crawling this side aswell, was doing moderately ok about 2 hours ago, now its unusable![]()
Getting status code 0 trying to download from news.mweb.co.za...
Hi cybershark
Are you still having issues with the news server? Have you rebooted the router and tested again?
No, the news server, started working again.
Will rebooting the router, give me a new IP? Otherwise I don't see much point in rebooting...
Hi Wolfy
The speed has been dropped.
The attenuation was on 65db after the line sped drop it's now on 63.5 still very bad. I see there is an open fault logged on your account.
I have the same issue with the news server ... when I tried to connect to it from the command line, it gave me an intruder message for my IP. I'll reset my router and see if it works...
update.. still the same. It connects for a few minutes and then times out. All other traffic and websites are fine, just the news server seems to be an issue. I can connect to other news servers without problems, just mweb news server is an issue. It was fine yesterday.
Mweb on the go slow again!!!
Switched to SAIX account just to post this, nothing opens or takes forever....
Hi I've been have super slow speeds after 01:00 in the morning for the past few days now and decided to test my line through
http://netalyzr.icsi.berkeley.edu/index.html when it started happening. Mwebguy can you please look into this for me? It always starts around the same time every night but during the day it runs smooth and full speed no issues. Here are the results
Major Abnormalities – Your ISP's DNS server is slow to lookup names
Minor Aberrations – Certain TCP protocols are blocked in outbound traffic
The network path does not reply when it needs to fragment traffic
The measured network latency and packet loss were somewhat high
The measured time to set up a TCP connection was somewhat high
The network measured bursts of packet loss
The NAT's DNS proxy doesn't fully implement the DNS standard
Some DNS resolvers appear to be down
Your computer's clock is slightly fast
Direct TCP connections to remote FTP servers (port 21) succeed, but do not receive the expected content
Direct TCP access to remote SSH servers (port 22) is allowed.
Direct TCP access to remote SMTP servers (port 25) succeeds, but does not return the expected content.
The applet received the following reply instead of our expected header:
"220 cpt-redirect02.mweb.co.za ESMTP Exim 4.80.1 Thu, 03 Jan 2013 01:34:42 +0200 "
Direct TCP access to remote DNS servers (port 53) is allowed.
Direct TCP access to remote HTTP servers (port 80) is allowed.
Direct TCP connections to remote POP3 servers (port 110) succeed, but do not receive the expected content
Direct TCP connections to remote RPC servers (port 135) succeed, but do not receive the expected content.
Direct TCP connections to remote NetBIOS servers (port 139) succeed, but do not receive the expected content.
Direct TCP connections to remote IMAP servers (port 143) succeed, but do not receive the expected content.
the list goes on
UDP connectivity (?): OK +
Traceroute (?): Failed to complete
Path MTU (?): 1488
Network latency measurements (?): Latency: 5600ms Loss: 42.5%
The round-trip time (RTT) between your computer and our server is 5600 msec
TCP connection setup latency (?): 4600ms
Network background health measurement (?): 1 transient outages, longest: 4.4 seconds
Network bandwidth (?): Upload 430 Kbit/sec, Download 1.1 Mbit/sec +
DNS resolver properties (?): Lookup latency 1900ms
Your resolver is using QTYPE=A for default queries.
Your resolver is not automatically performing IPv6 queries.
Your DNS resolver does not use EDNS.
Your DNS resolver accepts DNS responses of up to 512 bytes.
Your resolver uses 0x20 randomization.
Your ISP's DNS server cannot use IPv6.
No transport problems were discovered which could affect the deployment of DNSSEC.
Direct probing of DNS resolvers (?) –
Your system is configured to use 2 DNS resolver(s).
Sorry for filling the page it's just a little concerning and hope someone can help. I have the detailed results and can send it to whom ever can assist me.
Thanx in advance
Hi NarcoticJ
I have refreshed your account. Please monitor again during those hours. What did Telkom say about your line?
The issues comes at exact times ever night like clockwork and my access account runs fine during the same times on the same line so I haven't spoken to Telkom about it. Used the telkom guest account on http://capetown.spdtst.saix.net/ during these times and it runs fine. I've monitored resource manager and no programs are using bandwidth during this time.
Hi
Please send me the comparative results and I'll log a technical specialist callback.
