Hi PostmanPot

Thank you and same to you :-)

Happy Happy to everyone here. :)

I feel a bit guilty for how much data I am burning through each month on my 1Mb uncapped :o

Hi darxx

I see that there is an open fault on your account and will update it with your latest feedback.

hey there mweb guy, it seems the telkom technicians have fixed the line now, but someone turned down the speed to 1mbps which is kinda feeble since im paying for 4 mbps. anything you can do?

Thanks

Hi Mweb Guy

I just noticed that the free Wifi Hotspot services for the 4Mbit consumer Uncapped ADSL has been heavily reduced to a mere 300MB a month.
When did this happen? I was not notified of this. It's a substantial reduction with no price reduction.
I have 4 such accounts with you, 2 of which I signed up for back in 2003.
I dont think its fair to reduce the service without notification to your loyal customers, especially since the payment is on debit order.
I make use of the Hotspot access when I'm out of town - as i know i have 5 hours * 4 = 20hrs of access.

Please advise

Hi rm501

The Wi-Fi offering is a free value added service to MWEB Connectivity customers, as result it won’t affect pricing of any other products.

It was communicated to all MWEB subscribers via their MWEB email address that the change over will be done. We will not make such a change without informing our client base.

MWEB have changed the Wi-Fi model in order to bring it in line with the way most South Africans consume internet data – in megabytes, as opposed to minutes. Many customers use this free service when they’re in the airport or running in between meetings, to check their email or for casual surfing. This means these customers won’t have to monitor how long they spend online, but only the amount of data they use, which for most customers falls within the limits of 300MB per month.

Below is part of the mailer:

Dear MWEB Customer,

MWEB will soon be changing the existing Wi-Fi Hotspot offering from a Minutes based model to a Megabyte based model**. This means you’ll receive 300 Megabytes of Wi-Fi Data for FREE* each month instead of getting 300 Free* minutes of Wi-Fi once, you have been migrated onto the new model. You will still be able to use your Wi-Fi data at any MWEB approved Wi-Fi hotspot locations available countrywide. MWEB will be migrating customers onto the new Wi-Fi model between 4 December 2012 - 15 January 2013.

Any educated guesses on 20/40 mbit uncapped account prices mweb guy, or shall I just multiply the 4 meg uncapped price by 10 for the time being :erm:

Good Morning Segg, we have no pricing available for possible 20/40MB products. We will let you know as soon as we have the products available ;)

Hi MWEB Guy;

Major packet loss starting at about 11am today to international sites. Local is perfect. Can you please look into this?

Yep, increased latency, packet loss and timeouts ...... something went kaput
