MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Thank god this is my last month with Mweb...
So much for never throttling the premium accounts... This is exactly the reason why I left WebAfrica as well!!

Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Hi oliverwww

Please provide me with your speed test result. What speed is exactly slow on your side?

I checked your account and see that there is still a connection.

Just some post Mweb feedback

I actually attempted gaming via a PS3 yesterday using my Afrihost/MTN MiFi. Never in my life would've I expected to have a better experience than with my prior 4M ADSL Mweb premium account.

No choppy lag most of the time
I were not last to fill up with ammo any-more with up to three guys getting to fill up before me even tho I was at the box first
Request to fill with ammo was mostly instant and did not time out frequently anymore
I could swing around fast and kill my attacker before I died.
Fewer bullets killed my opponent effectively
I did not still die after killing my opponent first.

All to do with lag.

PS: all done with a low 3G signal

@Mweb Guy

In the light of impending throttling, please can your account usage page, in addition to "You have used 9.63 GB so far this month." also include something like "Your have used xxx GB during the last throttling period."? Of course even better would be to include "You will be throttled if you reach yy GB."

Hi bekdik

The ADSL TAB does provide a breakdown of the usage for the day and month.

"You will be throttled if you reach yy GB." - Here you are asking for threshold.

The whole of Mweb can go beep themselves,

No one told me when they downgraded my package because the Telkom Exchange was congested
That they would add another 12 months to my contract! I was under the impression that my end date was still the same.
No one at Mweb gives two hoots, No one bothers to explain...
And it is so funny how managers are never available.

Lying Thieves , Screw you Mweb......

Mweb need to take note of Afrihost, Afrihost knows how to run an ISP.
Mweb on the other hand, no so much.

Hi Hummercellc

We don't just go ahead and downgrade a customers package because of congestion and let alone with out their consent.

With regards to contracts, it goes onto a month to month once contract terms comes to an end. Then a cancellation request needs to be put in if you want to stop the account.

Please provide me with the MWEB account details you referring to and I'll look into it.

Sent you the details on Facebook.....

Does anyone know what counts towards being throttled? Does gaming? Will gaming be effected? Does uploading? I upload more than I download. Does local? Local doesn't cost much, surely you can use more local than international?

Hi Hummercellc

I did a dig and found that you sent the cancellation form in on 31 August. Is this correct?

If yes, then please keep in mind 1 calender month notice period. I will ask our Premier team to send you an email confirming receipt of cancellation request.

Yes that is right, I know it's 1 month calendar notice so it should be cancelled by the end of Sep 2013?

My problem is I was just told I can not cancel until May 2014. That is why I am peeved.

Thanks Mweb Guy

I don't think the threshold can be quantified in number of gb left because it would depend on the network usage, not just one user surely? The MyADSL page needs like a rev counter or thermometer showing how close you are to being throttled.

Hi Hummercellc

I have asked them to look into it and make contact with you.

Hi Oj0

Speed limiting is based on if you are a high bandwidth user. If you do find yourself speed limited then, yes, Gaming would be affected because your speed is reduced.

with respect to being shaped that sort of approach is quite sufficient but with throttling the character of the product changes and needs to be explicit. So what is needed is a bar that shows how close you are to being subjected to throttled to X point (where X is expressed as a percentage or new "line speed") and if it is gradients moving it on that basis.

Of course implementing such a tool, paying money over to charity and running a public campaign to counterbalance their earlier representation would prevent them from ploughing resources into defending the indefensible

Mweb Guy

I recently upgraded from 1meg to 2meg (belive it was 19 Aug) happened to be throttled on the 2nd of this month. Want to find out if the rolling window is from the 19 of Aug or is it from the 1st of this month?

Sending this MSG from a trial acc from another ISP as my "Uncapped" is rather useless atm. Havent used very little last 3 days when i can expect improvement?
