MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Nowhere in any of our communication have we guaranteed p2p, torrent etc speeds.

That's why I said "fair enough", but it has also been repeatedly stated that after hours one could expect these downloads to work. Getting 1/2 line speed, hell even 1/4 line speed would be alright at this stage, so getting 0 (ZERO!) speed is really ridiculous.

Currently there are many subscribed to MWEB using these services right now and we have had no influx of speed issues relating to it.

Ok :wtf: This tells me nothing. So you are saying there should be no speed issues?

Each end user has a different know how of how these services works and speed.

Really?! This sounds like a snide remark that I don't know what I'm doing

...but it has also been repeatedly stated that after hours one could expect these downloads to work...

Yes but the after hours times vary. Some days it's 19h00, some 22h00, some 00h00, etc.

I'm pretty sure you can be guaranteed they'll pick up after 00h00.

If you're unhappy, I suggest looking for another ISP.

Hi qinglung

I reiterate, we have no p2p, torrent and such services issues.

Tested and speeds are fine.

If you interpreted the last line as such I assure you it was not meant in that way.

Can you describe the full picture of what is happening with your setup? Please provide me with your MWEB account email address and I'll have your account fully investigated to see where the underlying issue might be stemming from.

Can you describe the full picture of what is happening with your setup?

There is nothing downloading from news servers. I can see the connection being made, and then it just sits there and times out after a while. I can leave it running and this keeps happening, nothing downloads.

To help establish that it is indeed an MWeb issue:
* this is from two different news servers, so it is not a problem on the news server's side,
* tested the two different news servers with another account, and both work fine,
* there is nothing wrong with my setup (see previous point regarding testing with a different account),
* there is nothing wrong with my setup when using MWeb, as it does work sometimes, albeit very slowly, e.g. early mornings it seems fine and then gradually gets slower and slower until it starts timing out the whole time,
* there is nothing wrong with my line (using the other account I get full line speed),
* not throttled, I am way below the threshold.

At this very moment I have it running, and in the last 15 minutes one article from a news server download, the rest kept timing out.

Hello, I'm in desperate need of help!, I have been on and off with mweb for over a week, constant phone calls, All regarding my issue, Every time they tell me this and that, I have tried dozens of things they told me to do, and nothing is working and im out of options.
Here is my issue!:)

-I have a very bad latency problem, my ping would spike all the way up to 4000ms, and would sit there for hours, its generally around 2000ms, it happens here at night round about 9-10pm it starts, and it carrys on for hours,Lately it is just purely random, it will have high latency at either 5pm or maybe at 7pm, Its a completely random thing, on random occasions it will be around 500ms and that would be my lowest ping for the night. All mweb can tell me is that its on my side and told me dozens of things to fix it, I have the only computer in the house, and there is NOTHING running on my computer causing lag, i can stream movies, download and dozens of things and my net wont be affected at all, So i know there is nothing on my side that can cause such high latency.

Things i have tried-
*I did the mweb 4mb 10 day trial line, Still received high latency
*They reset my ports, didn't help
*Tried a different modem/router, didn't help
*Tried different computers/laptops , didn't help
*Tried not using the internet for a day or two, didn't help
On the phone they said, that my line is good im not throttled everything looks normal and great and they said its my side, but there is nothing that can cause it, A friend told me that it could this "congestion at exchange" i havent phoned about that yet, I just didnt have high hopes, I dont know what to do anymore, im considering changing internet provides cause nothing is working, Please can you help im out of options and i really just want this resolved.

Thanks for your time!:), I really hope you will be able to help me!:)

Lately mweb pings have been shooting. Even tonight, people with mweb had about 200-300 ping. Only other reason would be your area exchange being congested, which will take a very long time to be fixed. Could you tracert mybroadband or google (even tho mweb avgs 150 with them)

I also experienced gaming issues , I couldnt connect on Friday at all, was fine from Sat morning till Sunday afternoon. Last night after 19:00 again, no connections to gaming server. It will just sit there and do nothing.

Hi Nathan Sweetnam

Pm me your MWEB details and I will look into this.

Also can you give me a trace route to a local and international site

I cannot load Gmail via the web, in Chrome or in incognito Chrome.

Works perfectly via Thunderbird.

MWEB Guy, this is becoming a massive problem, and it's the worst it's been in weeks.

I now changed back to the @dslmweb.co.za realm and it works perfectly, loading instantly.

MWEB Guy, please explain why?

Please refer to my response to your PM's. There shouldn't be any noticeable difference in service performance when switching between MWEB realms. Support generally suggests changing realms as a troubleshooting step to force the reallocation of a new IP address.

Maybe follow your own advice and "If you're unhappy, I suggest looking for another ISP."

Definitely what I will be doing soon.

There shouldn't be any noticeable difference in service performance when switching between MWEB realms.

But then why is there?

I can notice an immediate difference as soon as I connect. All realm changes done within minutes of each other.
