I get that, like I said, i'm not being a pissy entitled consumer, but when things are more of a side-grade than an upgrade then whats the point? Its a poor marketing strategy and this is why: I hazard that probably everybody on a PREMIUM 1 meg account already know that if we were to go on a 2meg standard account we would get throttled, simply because as premium users we easily per month would use over 70GB(I think at least)
My personal experience as our (Me + GF's) Monthly usage is roughly around 70GB at the moment, and we're not even trying. I am really not fussed about downloading the internet, I game, I DL, I browse. But the 2Meg standard uncapped product is quite useless to everyone who is on a premium 1meg account because it does not offer us anything but a side-grade compromise, not an upgrade: Higher speeds, lower gaming priority, lower threshold, same price.
When you have to make your entire 1 Meg premium product base engage in less than satisfactory side-grade compromises, it leaves a sour taste and an unfulfilled consumer experience with Mweb in general. I know people compromise in many purchases, but when UPGRADED line speeds = nothing of benefit for 1 meg premium users(nothing cheaper, higher threshold etc), the compromise is already seen in a negative light. Its either stay with what we have, or pay for more.
Even worse is that OTHER tiered Premium users get a benefit, not speed wise but prices have decreased for the other premium packages. From (I think)R589- R509 all incl for 2 meg premium account, which is great; yet 1 meg premium members get nothing of value with this upgrade, whereas other do.
@MWEB Guy- please discuss this issue, i"m not trolling at all, just want some discussion on the marketing strategy behind not offering anything substantially different to Premium 1 meg users? I understand that you cant make old 1 meg premium users 2 meg users for the same price (Although other ISP's have....for a different day) but, not even a reduction in price for 1 meg users seems a tad unfair?
