MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

So I'm on a 1mb uncapped account. After calling Mweb to query about my slow speeds, I get told I'm being throttled.

Because the previous month I downloaded 120gig. Now i get told i can't download anything for 2 to 3 days if i want the throttle removed.
Is this fair?

MOrning jarrodr, the threshold on the 1MB premium package is approximately 100GB.

The throttling will be lifted once your usage is below the threshold, over a 30 day rolling window . This does not include any upload data.

What is the throttle on premium 2 meg?

Well im done being throttled, by mweb, i could get capped internet for the same price and the same number of unshaped gigs. so im gonna cancel, however i cant get through to the cancellation department!!!!
I do have a question for mweb guy if i DL from steam does that increase my chances of getting throttled i must have gotten 50 gb off MWebs steam server last month now i cant even upgrade to 2 meg because im a abuser

Steam download content is also taken into consideration within the throttling threshold.

Thanks but Why on earth would steam content from your local server be counted in the cap "and yes its a capped account if you throttle past 100gb" the steam server was the only reason i have ever used mweb !!

just go into steam>settings>Downloads>Download region and select one from the list its only download though its normally more stable than DL from abroad

ive also jst sent a cancellation email, um so over mweb i will neva advise any1 to join em period. this month ive used less dan 2g on ma 2mbps uncapped premium den i got throttled. en no 1 at mweb cn tel me wen ma line b bck to full speed.

One of our Lines being throttled... 136 GB in Jan Upgraded end of Jan from 2 Mbps to 4 Mbps Premium Uncapped, speed went up and then down again still throttled....

I see WebAfrica has new Caps.

120GB Cap for R199. 50GB more than MWeb 2mb Uncapped.

My 6 year old son told me that doesn't look right.

I got my new FON router..

Its actually a very nice router.. only disappointment is its says it can only read FAT32 drives, but the spec sheets says optional NTFS..

Mweb Guy does the mweb firmware have support for the optional NTFS?

Gents - I would LOVE to come back to MWEB, and I make no bones about it ..... But instead, I am with AH and OW,

The reason is simple - Throttling is absolute bull. :twisted:

Best bet, find an alternate ISP and hopefully, one fine day, sense will prevail or Hershaw will leave, and MWEB will again become the finest ISP, at which time I (and ALOT of others) will return.

But for now, vote with your wallet and common sense and get as far away from these THROTTLEMONGERS as possible.

+ 9999999 I cannot agree any more! I would envy coming back to Mweb but throttling, wtf is Mweb thinking and the CEO... They are killing there reputation and loosing clients. They think more about there profits than actual Users experiences on the network. It's such a sad affair!
