MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

I decided from the outset to treat their "uncapped" offering as a capped account with a much better value proposition, while it works for me.

I'm glad they work for you. I wish you all the best. I just know how I was treated and to be honest there prices don't exactly accommodate for there throttling thresholds though especially with there non premium Uncapped ADSL products

Except most other capped accounts do not also get shaped.

True, why not go for a capped product with better value for money with another ISP. I'm glad to see Mweb still have a good reputation within there clients :D

I'm running an NTFS drive on it with no issue at all. Great NAS.

This may seem like a very stupid question. But once you connect a drive, where do you access it from. Tried from the routers menu, but I couldn't see any files.

From memory the IP address is (from run in Windows or finder-go-connect to server on osx) 192.168.1.253 or \\myrouter

Mweb guy please explain the difference between uncapped ADSL 2mb for R199.00 pm & premium uncapped ADSL 1mb for R199.00 pm? I read the Ts & Cs for both & there is NO difference so what am I paying R199.00 for 1mb when I could have 2mb for the same price?

Hi Madaboutbullterriers

The Standard packages have a lower threshold as to the Premium.

2MB Standard threshold is in the region of 70GB

1MB Premium is in the region of 100GB

Is mweb crawling for any else in Cape town

Web browsing is slow....

Hi fbman

There aren't any issues in the Cape Town area we aware of. Have you rebooted the router, leaving it off for 10 minutes?

Are you perhaps being throttled?? That's a side effect of throttling

Nope.. My throttle cap is 600 gig... I only done 200 gig in the last 30 days

Don't worry mweb guy.. It seems to have corrected itself.. Now i am cruising again.. .. A glitch in the matrix perhaps

Twice today I also had a short-lived problems in Cape Town (the second around 4.30pm), with local latency exceeding 300ms. This was gust long enough to notice some very slow routing on the 3rd hop (not my exchange), before the problem corrected itself (back to 10ms).
