MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

I have a 10mbit uncapped connection at home with MWEB. It's always been super fast and Netflix and Hulu have always streamed in HD, mostly 1080p.

The past few weeks have been a little dodgy though.

My Netflix and Hulu are really struggling to play SD.

Are they throttling these services now?

I pay R999 a month and I'm gonna be pissed if this is the case.

I was watching at 720p on Netflix just now on 6Meg Standard. Didn't see any issues.

Yes they throttling your usage. But your threshold if you on premium will be 1000 GB around there. But if you on standard- I wouldn't be too happy about the throttling

I don't think they shape real time services such as Netflix and Hulu but I'm not sure as I have never used those services
 
Telkom reset my ports. Seems back to normal. I think I'm on Small Business 10mbps uncapped. I should move to Home Premium yeah?

Trying to login to my account on MWEB.co.za using my DSL account details and it just doesn't work. Where the heck am I supposed to check my current package/usage?

There's a few different login areas and pretty much have no idea where to login or what details to use.

Thanks guys. I upgraded to the 4mb standard for now. I'm loving the speed difference:sly:. And I even got a free range extender. My upgrade reflected instantly.

Hi guys, been with OW for long and they can not get the lag sorted out in online games. My line speeds are perfect at 4mb and my pings are great I just have massive lag spikes in games.

Some guys say MWEB is for gamers is this the case? I do not do ANY DL,I do however work from home so my line is used for Work (emails), games and youtube. What will a good product be and is it possible for a trail 24hr trail?

Thing is OW shaped my during the day and then I can barely open websites and youtube is a no-go in the days....wasn't always like this.

News servers are not connecting today .... been a while already and no joy. Could you have a squiz please Mweb Guy?

Sign up for their 7 Day, 4mbps trial account and try them for a week.
Just remember its a premium 4mbps account and not a standard account.

Is anyone else having issues with mwebs dns? When I use 8.8.8.8 I can browse fine but as soon as I set it to automatic I cant browse from any of my devices.
 
Yo MWEBGuy, something off topic but maybe you can check into it...

As far as I know MWEB is hosting gameservers for the PC version of Battlefield 4, my question to you is what's the possibility of hosting a PlayStation 4 version server on the same network?

Console gamers are suffering some horrible latency trying to play with the europeans and yanks. Any word?

I'm not aware of any issues but I'll ask around.
Have you tested with a different client yet? Just out of interest sake.
Also, do you get any errors or does it just hang?
 
The free international one works fine, just hangs when trying to connect to the Mweb servers. Exactly the same issue as that about 2 or 3 weeks back.

Hi

Are you still having trouble with the DNS servers.
Have you checked that the DNS on set to auto on the both the router and the device you using to connect from?

Hi mephisto_Helix, we have tested and we are able to connect to and download from the news servers

Hosting dedicated servers for ALL console servers has been and will remain as a priority on our to-do list and we shall continue to try and get the attention of the powers that be. However, it is not something that we can provide without the assistance and go ahead from Sony & Microsoft.
While they are very aware of us and they hear our cries and pleas, We are very small in terms of global numbers and we are simply not on the international roadmap for the rollout of these servers.
