Will checking that box mess with unotelly DNS settings? But yeah, I've got an old router knocking about I think I'll hook that up and see how it goes as soon as I get out of this sick bed.....bleh!!!

Look great doesn't it? Yeah well pity useless since Skype signs in and out every 10-15 seconds, browsing is like 56K, and Youtube etc. does not even open. All this however is completely and utterly random and intermittent.

Waiting for the Afrihost account to go live for comparison test.

I disagree. Everything seems fine on my Afrihost account from what I can tell.

Same like you said the problem is with Telkom yesterday and then the trace route results where totally different between two ISP's.

I'll rather wait for feedback from Mweb Guy thanks.

That's because when you make a new connection, your port is reset. Just like turning your modem off for 15 - 30 minutes. This temporarily alleviates line issues, particularly congestion.

Hey guys has anyone been able to get pppoe passthrough working on the Technicolor TG589VN v3, or have a custom firmware that enables it locked features??

PPPOE passthrough works on the latest firmware. DM me the MWEB username for me to check if you have the latest firmware on the router.
 
I have no idea what's going on. Speeds on P2P have been shocking for a few weeks now.

I am aware that P2P is the lowest priority for MWEB but why are speeds suddenly so low when they were fine before? Why is this only an issue now? I know I'm not being throttled so I'm at a loss as to what it could be.

Is anyone else on MWEB having this issue?

If I'm reading correctly, you are saying that only your p2p speeds are slow. Does it improve later in the evening?

Sometimes it does for a short while after midnight but it's still not uncommon to get speeds lower than 1 kB/s on a 4meg account around that time.
 
Anybody else's internet crawling? Getting an average of 10-15KB's at max... Not throttled either =\

Evening, I had a look at your account and everything seems in order.

Looking at your usage for the day, it does not reflect a slow connection either.
 
Mweb guy, our company has a fibre connection with you. Perhaps you can tell me how lightspeed.co.za can offer 100mbit fibre for 10K/month?

Evening Semaphore, I am not able to comment on other providers packages.
