Will do, also is SSL still frowned upon, not to bypass shaping, another news server I use now requires SSL to connect, can I go ahead and turn it on?

As far as I'm aware, nothing has changed in that regard.

when i try test the connection it says its timing out.
when it does manage to download most articles get the message out of retention but yet they have only been up for a day.

Just plugged in my FON router. The VDSL router seemed to be struggling to hold the internet connection steady at first, but its connecting now. It basically took the place of the ADSL modem in my home network. My home Wireless is handled by a separate 450Mbps wifi router in this setup.

Looks like everything just needed a few minutes to assign IPs and get acquainted. The network map on the VDSL router page is actually quite good. Everything seems to be playing nicely together now.

EDIT: I don't think the @MWEB FON network is working though, unable to connect to it using my Nexus 7 tablet.

MOrning, you should not be able to connect to your own FON signal.
 
If my tablet fails to get an IP address, I don't see how anyone else can get one either. They would need this to at least get to the Fon landing page to sign in.

You can't connect to your own FON signal, that is for other FON users to connect too.

You need to connect to your home network.

I cannot connect to the FON network through my own FON router, yes I understand that part fine.

My question relates to how FON users authenticate on FON hotspots. They need to connect to the network first, correct?

I tried a little experiment: I connected a brand new device to the FON hotspot, no problem. This implies that the router remembers which devices have already connected to the Non-FON side.

Once connected to FON, I tried logging in with my mweb details and it correctly says something like: "you cannot login to your own FON hotspot".

Other FON subscribers will be prompted to enter their username and password in order to establish a connection at a FON hotspot.
 
Email came right - newsserver died ......... when it all works 100% I will have a stroke :rolleyes:

When I'm allowed to use SSL to connect to a different news server between 24:00 and 06:00 is the day I will be so happy I will probably have a heart attack.
 
Does anyone know how much it is to just keep the email but cancel the adsl

Hi, I have confirmed, the mailbox only is R55 but please note that this mailbox size is 100Mb.

Alternatively you can change the account to a 2Gb adsl account with a 2Gb mailbox for R59
 
Mweb (and AH) acting up at the moment ..... very slow speed, high pings, etc. What broke now?

Or a 1GB capped account for R29/month.
 
Is MWEB in any way affiliated with Multichoice? Reason I ask is because people are cancelling DTSV in order to rather download their content, but now MWEB has killed Torrents in totallity. (Even after 11PM)
